grinderman and DLD have jams on them, and honestly most nick cave records including murder ballads and let love in are just still kind of half weird/half jams you feel me

i can dig it. i liked a couple of songs on the first grinderman & 'we call upon the author' from dig, but the rest are inoffensive. only stuff i don't really care for is grinderman 2 & nocturama but each have a song or two that's great so it's not a complete loss on my end.
murder ballads, though way cool in spots (stag, henry, song of joy), is nowhere near a favorite in the big picture. |

Let Love In and Murder Ballads are both better albums, to start with. And No More Shall We Part is also much stronger

Good picks for sure but I just feel like he's always had a problem with consistency. Murder Ballads especially drags in the second half. It's obviously just a personal taste thing but I feel like TGS is the only album of his where i'm not inclined to skip any of the songs.

it obviously is, yes. Firstborn Is Dead is actually my favourite, but i realise that it would hardly be everybody's cup of tea

my favorites are your funeral, my trial and no more shall we part. i agree about a general lack of consistency but a lot of moments of brilliance. most albums have a few clunkers, but understandable via trots above.
