Thanks!
I totally get why Billy wanted James to play on the Processional, it has that pop/country feeling James likes. Great song!

Half-Life of an Autodidact is also good, but I have a bad feeling Billy is going to ruin that one in studio.

Mandarynne and Antietam are very Djali-Zwany, and that is great!

listening now.

zowie sounds good. processional sounds bad. spaniards is pretty good. verses still sound shitty but that harmonica playing is pretty cool

half life of a whatever sounds good. the whole "i just get/got tired" line seems very personal and sincere

he sounds like he gives a shit in these songs which, if nothing else, is nice

Well, he didn't play Shiloh or Archer. I doubt Cardinal Rules is any of them tho.

No Cardinal Rules, no Orange Burnt Black, no Red Dirt, which btw was my favorite!

He's blazing through these songs. Way, way to fast. Half-Life Of An Autodidact is rushed to the point of sounding bad.

I have no idea why Billy didn't inclu*de it.

February 2016:

Billy: "Is Cardinal Rule gonna be on the new album?...Probably, yeah..."

"I think Cardinal Rule is one of the best songs I've ever written..."

Honestly if he just put out this show as the record it'd probably be much better

i remember complaining on here that if he'd only put out a solo record that was just him and an acoustic it'd be good. and i guess he listened

That one's a Tim Hardin cover.

No fucking around, I really enjoyed Autodidact and Mandarynne.
