Wouldn't it be crazy if the song is actually classic SP face-melting goodness?

Jimmy and James back... If isn't gonna be kick-ass now, it's never going to happen.

It could potentially kick ass.

There's a lot riding on their return... Do we really think they're gonna push a single like Being Beige or Special K?

I think we're gonna see the best they have to offer. It's easy to be bitter, but these are the same guys that made the old music, I don't think they just lose an ability... I personally liked Zeitgeist, so I'm very happy hat Jimmy is recording again, and throw in James? I'm looking forward to hear what they have to offer.

If it sucks, then it's the proverbial nails in the coffin.

The Smashing Pumpkins have a good chunk of memorable hits though. I think they can always have success if they can perform those songs at a high level.

Just think, ending a set with a memorable version of 1979 with the big Live Nation bells and whistles as the 40 something couples will be holding each other arm in arm, reminiscing blissfully of their high school years. That'll really tug on the heart strings of all the squares.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Yeah, I thought the Z singles were really strong. I used to LOVE That's The Way, I really liked the video too. I was always surprised that it never caught on... It was only once Jimmy left that nothing connected with me. That's why I was saying "Fuck James if it means doing an oldies thing", I'd rather they just continue on with Jimmy and focus on the new music and try some interesting things like mixing up the setlists and being experimental.... I realized he tried that with Byrne, but I just couldn't get past the downgrade in musicianship.

At least when the video comes out we can laugh our asses off at the mimes in the video, knowing full well that they were only paid 100 dollars each for the role.

I love That's the Way too. Laugh at me all you want, but Tarantula and That's the Way are the best/most concise songs Billy has written in the last 11 years. For some reason since those two songs he hasn't been able to write anything that sounds like it would fit on a Greatest Hits album. Maybe if Jimmy were there it would have elevated some other songs to that level, who knows.

TTW is a good song, the problem is that it sounded too much like the old pumpkins but that comparison didn't do it any favours cause it is not as good as the old pumpkins catalogue, in terms of quality. It is too in the middle of the road, and not very catchy to be a single, specially in 2007 when everybody was paying attention to those numetal bands. That's why Tarantula did a better job:

I guess solara is going to be a hard rocking song with metal guitars and a great hook in the chorus.
Its not gonna be a slow tempo song.

Please no similarities to fol or duperchrist shit. Any release date for solara????
