What I was doing earlier without saying it exactly was comparing Jeff v. Ginger, Ginger's hotness puts her way over the top in that comparison imho.
You didn't cover it at all though. Being that Ginger's hotness gives her a huge boost in membership quality, how much does Jessica Simpson's hotness factor into her hypothetically being a quality member of SP?

Anyways, how are you going to prove this contention of yours? And, he's a "has been" now, only what he looked like when he became a big star/was a big star would be relevant to this discussion.
Billy has always been a homely guy. Lanky, hunched backed, pig nose, huge birthmark, fucked up teeth, balding, womanly thighs.

Most find billy attractive because of his personality and musical ability. He isn't attractive in the brad pitt way.

James iha is a very handsome guy and he was modeling for awhile but he had fame because of Billy.

In the context of this conversation, hotness is relevant. Hotness is a part of stage presence, aura, likableness, charisma, and other similar characteristics and...

We're talking about rock and roll, at the end of the day it's mostly about having fun and sexiness and hotness are fun, it's not immature to recognize that. It's part of being human.

i had a similar conversation with a friend of mine about dum dum girls. i like them lots, she says it's because they are hot. they are facemeltingly hot, yes.

but if they had Cthulhu heads and misshapen deformed bodies i WOULD NOT CARE AT ALL

of course they probably wouldn't have been signed if they had Cthulhu heads and deformed bodies so there's that

it's really annoying whenever a female musician steps forward the debate always turns to how hot she is. granted, male rock stars are always objectified and sexualized by male and female fans and women would be the same but it would be nice if someone would talk about Carrie Brownstein's mad crazy guitar skillz without mentioning whether or not she is hot

Now with the dum dum girls they make sexy music so looking sexy is part of the whole bit but you know it's thorny man. Fuckin thorny.

Lisa. The only one I think really loved to play with SP. See 20 years tour, she was melted playing those keys.

All the others always looked totally apathic playing, I hated it...

Listen to the version of Set The Ray To Jerry that I posted.

Her Bass and the Rhythm section overall sound way tighter and better than anything I've heard Nicole play with Smashing Pumpkins.

Now you COULD argue that Nicole would sound great if SHE played alongside Jimmy. But we have no evidence of that so we can't prove that as a fact.

People rave about Nicole's bass playing... But the way I see it is that a rhythm section is a TEAM... You CAN'T have a great bass player if the drummer sucks. You also can't have a great drummer (IN A BAND) if the bass player sucks...

Of course in a rhythm section the drummer takes most of the load. But he/she still needs a competent bass player if he/she is playing in a band.

I've been to hundreds and hundreds of concerts in my life and the SP show I saw in 2007 still ranks in my top 5. The band killed it and everyone in the crowd was ecstatic. The 2007 line up created a true energy and an excitement that the new lineup just doesn't generate.

Sure, that might be true nowadays.

But back in the 90's the guy was seen as sort of a "heartthrob". The women loved him. Don't act as if he's in the same boat as Thom Yorke.

During the SD videos his looks certainly helped his cause.Women would "coo" over videos like Today and Disarm. The bald head hurt the cause but he was still a good enough looking guy to keep the "casual fan" women on board.

Yeah the chorus is great. This line up really added a cool energy that made me excited about "SP" again.

This is somewhat of a "simple" song and Jimmys chops still shine through and draw attention.

This performance really proves that any fool who tries to suggest that MIKE BYRNE is a competent replacement is on fucking crack.

I don't know if I have the energy to go through all of this and tell this guy he is an idiot after each stupid thing he says.

I mean really other than "bass and drums are a team", it is all trash and makes no sense.

You need a bass player, they make a huge difference. The SP basslines are not particularily hard but they do add to the songs. D'arcy was an important band member. The bass was just always after the drums in importance.

Moreover, the bass itself isn't a show off instrument. It is a supportive instrument meant to bridge the drums and guitar. The bass is meant to keep the chord and is the backbone of the band.

Meh, no point in explaining this 80 times.

So you don't know if you have the energy, but you just go ahead and do so anyways?

God you're such an insufferable cunt. Try and at least add some dialogue to the conversation if you feel the need to smash your large fingers against your key-board.
