This song = LOL and WTF. Weird. Not really my cup of tea, but I still could not help but be slightly amused.
How could I be upset about it, though? Billy is a self-confessed appreciator of that 80's electronic pop stuff and he's always experimented with those sounds and textures. (Even dating back as far as The Marked you've got half the songs being rock, while the other half is just really weird electronic goth pop experimentation.) It's not exactly the first time that he's released some weird ass "quirk factor" songs in his non-album output. Personally this one just reminds of a song created with a mash up of elements from the likes of Sinfony (especially the synth-guitar sound) and most especially Bugg Superstar (it sounds like it's using the exact same drum sequence!) I think this song was a very deliberate and self-conscious statement, providing a kind of counterbalance of the musical style of Zeitgeist. The Zwan/TFE-ish, "cheerful" musical ambiance too, just seems very deliberately ironic in its juxtaposition to both the title and lyrics. |

The vocal mixes are literally destroying this album.
Seriously. |

What is happening? I was laughing at this joke of a song yesterday, now its starting to grow on me???
I don't mind layered "death from aboves anymore"! I think Billy has used the layering to hypnotise me..... |

Hi-ho Tonto, away! I think it's by far the worst song I've heard from Billy under the guise of SP, though not perhaps quite the worst of his entire output. Again, the loud layering destroys anything this song might have had, IMHO. "what was I thinking" - indeed... |

I really didn't want to support Best Buy when buying Zeitgeist, and now, thanks to this crappy b-side, I won't have to. |

whoever, pages and ages ago, mentioned that it sounds a bit like the neverending story theme is exactly right. aside from being terrible, it also has glued the mental image of atreyu and artax galloping across one field or another in my head.

after listening to DFA above about 10 times now since I bought the cd today, I'm really impressed with it.
It reminds me somewhat of DIA, which is my fav of TFE and a really good song. I'm suprised not many seem to like it. But that bodes well for me liking zeitgeist..i'm holding off until next Monday. If people say most (if not all) on zeitgeist is better than this...it'll be a treat. Can't wait |

it's nice, but I think I like "Signal to Noise" more in terms of "TFE" sounding Zeitgeist outtakes.
Vocals are too loud. Gotta admit it. |
