Default A Whisper in the Noise

This is a thread for the band A Whisper in the Noise. They may be no more unless West decides to record and release more music. He stays busy scoring films these days so that may never happen. I used to tape a lot of their shows and another cool thing is that West gave permission for AWITN to be added to the Live Music Archive around the time they were touring with Arab Strap. There you will find shows from Minneapolis, Brooklyn, Toronto, Chicago and Seattle. I have many other shows from Minneapolis/St. Paul that may be uploaded one day if I can find them. An old taping buddy does as well. They were an amazing live band but I do encourage you to check out some studio material first. In this thread I will post various A Whisper in the Noise that you may or may not enjoy. How about this quote from the internet:

Centered in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro, the group is known for their dark sound and unique instrumentation, as well as their effective live performances. Eschewing the more traditional use of guitar or heavy keyboards that might be associated with the band's umbral sound, the instrumentation of A Whisper in the Noise has included the cello, violin, French horn, synth/electronic keyboard, bass guitar, and percussion in some variation. They have toured as a supporting act for the Scottish band Arab Strap.

Through the Ides of March (2002)
2D (2004)
As the Bluebird Sings (2006)
Dry Land (2008)
To Forget (2012)

Splits, Comps & EPs:

A Whisper In The Noise / If Thousands (Split, 2004)
As The Bluebird Sings Radio E.P. (2006)
A Whisper In The Noise ‎(2008)

(This compilation album combines tracks from the debut album Through The Ides Of March, as well as tracks from the bands subsequent release 2D. Limited to 600 copies.)

First saw them in 2004 but was not taping until later that year.

2005-01-07 - Museum for American Art
2005-03-11 - Loring Pasta Bar
2005-12-20 - The Varsity Theater (AUD & SBD)
2006-02-17 - The Southern Theater (AUD & SBD)
2006-03-31 - The 7th St. Entry (SBD)
2006-05-06 - AWITN Trio @ First Avenue (SBD)
2006-09-08 - The Triple Rock early & late sets (MBHO AUD)
2007-06-23 - The Triple Rock (AUD & SBD) (w/ Themes & Nomia)
2007-08-03 - The Turf Club (AUD & SBD) (w/ Themes, Fort Wilson Riot, Big Game)
2008-02-28 - "Dry Land" US CD Release @ Varsity Theater (MBHO AUD & SBD)
2009-02-28 - The Turf Club (AUD & SBD) (w/ Lookbook)

My record keeping after 2009 is pretty much nonexistent but there are probably more recordings somewhere. I know one friend in particular was taping shows as well and perhaps some that I missed. Okay how about some music...

(I actually haven't listened to a lot of this music in a long time but feel that more people should know about this band)
