Even Reddit hated the song, and most people on there are almost Sad Machines-level sycophant Billy fanboys.
I bet even Strawtits hates it but she's too afraid to say that to old man Bill |

jesus, i don't HATE the song, it's just so GD forgettable. i've already heard it a few times, as other's pointed out:
starz fol tarantula superchrist but still, somehow, less inspired. i won't actively hate it, i'll just forget it. |

Remember in 2010 billy was saying he doesn’t need jimmy james Darcy etc etc to write a good song? Well this proves him right. I’d take anything on Oceania over this any day.
How unfortunately embarrassing. |

In my opinion, Billy thought he wrote a great album with Monuments, where each song resembled one of the first 5 albums. He couldn't believe he got 3-star reviews for it.
In his mind he was like "you see, I gave them what they wanted, still they didn't like... it's not that the music is bad, but it won't work if I don't have the original members with me". He brings back Jimmy and James and thinks he will get better reviews for the same crap he's been writing for the last 10 years. Why can't they take risks anymore? Billy's lost his muse. I think that happened when Adore came out, it was his most personal album and when the fans didn't like it that hurt him so fucking bad! Some people are only able to create good art from bad experiences. A few great poets of the Romanticism Movement even used to sabotage themselves so they would still have something to write about. |

if this was on ZG it'd be one of the better tracks on the album
the verse is a godawful version of The Cars Just What I Needed the tear down the sun chorus is fun, even if the lyrics are stupid, and the part that directly follows it is ok |

Meh. I really quite like it. Aside from the verse snare sound, which is a rather weird.

Imagine if they worked with a decent producer like Phil EK.
With good songs. |
