Default Machina 2 Remasters going to be SWEEEEET

I can't wait for this. There'll be nothing like blasting some good quality versions of tracks like Saturnine and Dross.

Such a good album. Lmgtwty, Home, cash car star.

Hopefully Corgan doesn't mess the remasters up.

Dross was officially released on Rotten Apples. Saturnine is a different version I think.

I was never able to get into Machina 2 due to how shit quality and muddled most of it was.

All of Machina is going to be redone at once.

I'm more excited for the kickass concerts from this era.

No it wasn't, you're probably thinking of Real Love.

Judas O has Lucky 13, Slow Dawn, and alternate versions of Here's to the Atom Bomb and Saturnine.

Same. It was probably partly due to bad rips (wasn't one even made at the wrong rpm?), but the mixes are pretty bad on some songs.

I like the sound of MII and think it gets criticized too harshly for its sound.

The q101 rip is great, and to me don't sound markedly different to the aforementioned songs from Rotten Apples/Judas O. I'm not familiar with the other rips but I've listened to each of them a couple of times and they definitely have their flaws.

The agnew rip at the wrong rpm is awesome.
billy's voice pitched up a bit, extra nasal
and the songs are faster/blaster
fucking rocks. after listening to it like that, the proper rpm versions just sound subdued and weak.

I like the dirt.

The people have spoken. Your troo fan card has been revoked. You are now on Monte's casual fan list.

hahaha - great post.

Monte was riding the high of having the privilege of being the only guy in the community having access to the re-issues and once someone else came along with it Monte just couldn't handle it. He was so fuming mad that he had to question the guys "fandom"... Just cause the guy didn't care for a track.

True Monte greatness.

I shouldn't hate too badly on the guy though. Originally I thought he got an unfair rep...

That was until he strong armed some lady into taking off her Pumpkins Vinyl off of Ebay.. Sure Machina 2 is ultra rare- but it gives Monte no reason to pry into her business. Lost all respect for the guy then.

not really. It was pretty much the forum consensus. Years back I stood up for the guy cause I thought people were hating on him unfairly.

I agree with the majority now... But people still throw in my face that I once stuck up for the guy. So I simply clarified my opinion up above.

No reason to be a smart ass about it!

TBCH, the complete aimlessness of that Siddhartha spectacle seemed to be a perfect metaphor for BC right now and the past several years. The lack of direction was really symbolic for me: grand ideas with zero follow-through or research/preparation. The man has absolutely no clue what he's doing anymore. Billy's fucking drowning and I want no part of it. I wanted to believe.

Sure, I lost faith in "the band" sometime around American Gothic Music (the concept, not necessarily the EP), but some small part of me still had faith in BC. Years later, all I see is squandered opportunities and an increasingly ingorant, sheltered and small-minded fanbase (not talking about this place btw so everyone chill out and don't take it personally) and it's not even any fun to rag on the guy anymore.

Well said man. I feel the same way.

The only reason I still follow along here is because of the hilarity of the posters and just to see if Corgan ever "Rights the ship". It was only 7 years ago that Corgan re-formed the band and showed a lot of promise of what they could offer... Now it's just a total shit show.

monte expert!

can we stick to machina 2 discussion?
Do you think he'll do some additional tracking for the remixes/resequence/remaster?
