on the beach is outta control. title track and vampire blues have the best minimalist guitar solos ever, and the shuffle on revolution blues is to die for. that's right I said to die for.

that album is a masterpiece... been looking for it on vinyl, i'm sure it's somewhere since there are like 800 yes vinyls in the used bin at all record stores. i have relayer though

I know we talked about Neurosis on the last page but:

I am right at the end of this record right now. It's been so long since Neurosis has really properly sent me down the hole. I want to curl up in the fetal position and die. Is it wrong that I love that feeling?

See I like swans because I feel more empowered by nothingness rather than Nerosis's cathartic purging. But yeah I def. get that from Neurosis.

I've always had trouble getting into Neurosis, it seems like the kind of thing i'd like (I like music that feels like a fist slowly but firmly forcing it's way through a hard wall) but it's just never come together.

If I give one of their albums a really focused listen, should it be this one? Times of Grace? Enemy of the Sun?
