Of course in the expanded universe Boba fett didn't die. No he remembered his jet pack and shit. I swear if they try to have any Boba Fett in the new movies....

actually i used to be like you then i grew the fuck up and realized most of this isn't that big a deal

a lot of people cherish the expanded universe stuff. boba fett & the mandalorians, the chiss, the new jedi order, jaina solo. so what?

if i was that into star wars i would have gotten into it myself. but i liked the xmans

Actually the older i grow the more i hate things. It has to do with being bitter about a failed life and shit. Also the older I get the more I know so there's just more things to be hateful about. and no I don't wonder why I don't have any friends.

By the way I love the venture bros. Even if the last few seasons are kinda meh bordering on sucking. Well like anything there's only so many good seasons you can write about..you know... whatever premise your show is about.

That last thing you said has me a bit uneasy... hopefully they don't shoehorn a bunch of crap into 7 just to sell toys and whatnot... C3PO in Ep I, Jango/Boba in II, Chewbacca in III...

That being said, I expect the EU and the films to have a lot of overlap. Everyone's kind of assuming that the whole thing is being scrapped, but there were many good plot points and natural progressions in the books. In all likelihood the writers know this, but want to avoid the 100 minutes of exposition it would take to get the non-uberfans up to speed on Star Wars lore.

Ya know, like Han looks at a photo of Chewie and gets teary-eyed before making some comment about his untimely demise 20 years prior. The movies would be filled with shit like that, and nobody would understand it nor want to see it. That's part of why the prequels were so grating, the unnecessary winks and nods to the uberfans which made little logical sense in terms of plot


Not to mention a lot of those things, like Jacen going Sith and Chewbacca dying are major events which could have high dramatic payoff. They're not free to shape the characters if they've already been shaped by offscreen events.


But yes, I wouldn't be surprised to see Boba either, and he might actually fit in quite well.
