Had to really think about this and by damn you're right.

The early singles on From Dawn to Dusk kind of mess up the first part but there are STRONG album tracks up there (HINW, To Forgive, etc.).

As for the 2nd disc, some of those are too loud for me and always were.

After hearing the clips from the first couple of shows this month I am fine with where his voice is at out now. Its not the same, but the fact that he's got to be able to get through a set that long night after night... he has to protect himself. Lisa makes up for it the backing vocals sound great. Haven't heard many people comment on that.

I listened to the first side of MCIS last night and yeah he is yelling like a mad man the whole time, hard to imagine keeping up with that every night in your 30s let alone into your 50s.

Shame -> Behold! The Nightmare -> For Martha is also a contender for me, though I'd probably give it to Ruby -> Stumbeleine -> XYU for personal preference.

I know I'm posting late in the thread, and a low count poster. But What the fuck? Quiet is SUCH a good tune, I love hearing it still, playing it on drums and guitar, and would imagine a lot of you do, whether you admit it or not. As for Billy, well we know he's insane anyway, pos from prescription drugs or just sycophantic twats. It may be a more simplistic metal type song, but it serves it's purpose wonderfully. A great album in my eyes has staggeringly awesome tunes threaded through, with some, maybe weaker, tunes but they help with the flow of the whole vibe. SD is one of the best examples of that.

Don't get me wrong, I love the song and all but in terms of songwriting, it's pretty pedestrian and effortless compared to most of the other monsters on SD.

I do kind of agree, but wasn't the whole point at the time that he was taking the standard metal riffs and twisting them, like the bit where he kind of, doubles back at one point and reverts the riff, it kinda shows it's more intelligent, sorry I lack the proper terminology so I hope you know the part I mean.

I think you mean the bridge ('quiet I don't trust you") where the riff doesn't go all the way up?
