Question Any Eels fans?

They (he?) get a lot of abuse, but I either loved or really liked everything they did up to and including "Blinking Lights..." I saw them live in Stockholm around that time (the "Eels with Strings" tour) and they were very good, and E was very dry and funny.

After that album E ran out of things to say and seemed to lose his lyric-writing skills and his ear for a melody. The last few albums consist of him going over themes that he explored a hundred times better on earlier albums, without even a decent melody or lyrical insight to make it listenable. Shame.

This was never really one of my absolute favourites but I was in a relatively good place when it came out. Actually, listening to it now, it still sounds gorgeous to me.

This one summed up my life in 2007. I emailed it to the girlfriend who I'd recently broken up with (pretty much her decision because of my issues and my rampant drinking and pill popping), telling her, "It has a bruised beauty," but she took it to mean I hated her. We ended up on civil terms, though.

Yeah, I'm fully aware that I'm in a thread that I started, talking to only myself, recommending myself videos, but I will march onward.

This was one of my favourite videos, way back.

Colgate (or some toothpaste brand) wanted to use this in an advert... It would've kinda trivialized the sentiment somewhat. This reminds me of being in LOVE
