Yeah it's been a while. Anytime I see someone throw their cigarette out their window on the road I'm like "oh shit what if.." but it's fine. Totally think if that everytime though.

Thank you! I miss it. Should've kept it and fixed it back up after it caught on fire again. I was just so leery of it catching on fire again, but really, that was dumb of me not to keep it. The beetle used to be my mother's and it went with her to Germany and all over Europe when she was in the military in the 70s.

Yes! I love Fort Worth. We built a house South of FTW though, pretty much in the country on some acreage, and I work in Granbury now. We're only 12minutes from Granbury and about 15 from Benbrook. Close enough to be in FTW easily, but totally feeling like we're out side of the craziness of living in the city.

Where are you at?

I like Granbury, but the drivers are ridiculous driving under the speed limit down 377. Drives me crazy. We moved my mom to a memory care center there because it's several thousand a month cheaper than in Fort Worth. I got hired in the district this year, as I can check in on her frequently. Way more so than when I was teaching in s. FtW.
Plus they have a new HEB. And I'm all about shopping at HEB.

What's in Chicago?
What's with moving to Chicago? There's been several people from here moving there, right? Or am I misremembering?

Living in Chicago feels so dumb cause of netphoria and all that but whatever. Who else lives out here? I see Mark on occasion and he's a cool dude and I like him. Geo moved here before I did in 2009 maybe? and moved to Oregon a few years back. Our friend Deborah from high school (middle school for Geo) moved here in 2003 to attend DePaul and has been here since.

Tim moved here from New York in 2011 for work and I came the next month. I don't think we'll stay here for good, but this city is great for us at the moment; we're finally hitting a stride and are actually a hosting our first big thanksgiving to-do this month .

I hate the winters so much, though. So so so so so so so much.

Tim ... mxzombie, was that his un? I vaguely remember y'all being a thing. That's really great! Good luck on the big get together.

Can't imagine moving out of Texas. Too much culture shock.
Although Zach was offered a transfer to Japan when I was pregnant with J and we were seriously considering it as he was traveling there every couple weeks. Really didn't want to have a baby in Japan and with my mom's crazy situation I'm glad we didn't take it.
I bet the winters are brutal in Chicago. Man it just flurries here and we go apeshit.
