I feel like any time there's a comic book movie or tv show announced, the actors have to be like "Oh yeah, I totally read comics growing up, I definitely know anything about them," but then there are these meganerds who actually lived it and cannot get out of it

Plenty of actors in these films freely admit to not being into the source material growing up and only doing the research as an adult for their roles. Others even say they couldn't get into the comics enough to finish reading their research materials (and then proceed to treat the material with contempt and go on about how they are doing a more "serious" take on it).

I don't mind when they don't have the nerd cred so long as they do a good job. And usually when the final product sucks, it's because of the screenwriters, director, and studio, rather than any of the actors.

Musk has been a dumbass through this whole thing.

In the early days, his response to the virus was something like "The panic is worse than the virus," and then as time went on he promised to build and deliver 1,000 ventilators to hospitals nationwide. Then it became buying the ventilators, then he said he'd delivered them and no hospital had a record of receiving them. Then it turned out what he'd actually bought weren't ventilators but CPAP machines that would have to be heavily altered to use for COVID-19 patients. They don't produce enough air pressure to be helpful, so Musk's response was to disagree with the entire medical profession and say he didn't think the amount of pressure ventilators exert is medically necessary.

Throughout this changing story, his fans have been on his side, don't mind that the goalposts keep shifting, and consider him a hero.
