Where the fuck did this come from?
And Billy, please put a lot of this kind of stuff on the Adore reissue. It could easily be the best of the reissues. This is fucking GREAT |

Kind of a garbage remix.
Note to rock musicians: stop using presets and default effect patterns. It makes you look like a bedroom producer This uses 2 presets from Absynth and 3 automated filter patterns from Halion. To translate to the guitar world, this would be like buying one of those digital guitar pedals and using four or five presets on one of those At the very least at least it was an actual remix unlike a lot of SP remixes which don't even remotely use the stems of the original One thing of note, the presets were from an older version of Absynth so this may actually be an older remix and not recent Last edited by PkPhuoko : 10-03-2012 at 10:01 PM. |

I think you missed the point of the remix... it sounds like it was an early, working mix to play with some ideas before the final layout and arrangement of the song came to fruition. You can tell because the vocals aren't the vocals from the final album version, and there are even some extra words that didn't make the final cut. I think it's awesome to hear the brainstorming in action. |

Sounds like really generic Hollywood production music - pretty much like all the dance and electronic influenced shit they were passing off as contemporary MTV "alt rock" back in 1998. Like fucking 6 Underground by Sneaker Pimps. Yawwwn. I think the "presets" comment pretty much hit it on the spot.

...and also samples the intro drumbeat of this 1973 Little Feat song - Also have read, iirc, that the Sneaker Pimps album was very low budget & DIY. |

This is fantastic. Not bothered with the other re-issues, but can't wait for Adore and Machina outtakes...

Yeah this ain't bad. I definitely prefer the original, but, as someone else noted above, you kind of see a bit of the creative process going on before the final cut is made or chosen.

This could have been released through SPRC and rekindled our hopes for the program.

If this is on the Adore re-issue, consider it bought.

I received this from a mutual friend of Dennis, Jimmy and myself. Dennis was the one who handled the business side of things, unfortunately his tragic death has meant that things have come to a stand still. The Frogs were going through a time of releasing all of their original 'mail order only' albums digitally, two new albums had only just been released, more was on the cards. I was made aware that a couple of people were doing all they could to go through all the material they can find to make a digital archive. I can't say too much right now, but I will say i've received Frogs material over the last couple of years that was never going to be made available publicly, plus material that hadn't been made public yet. That side of the business is still to be determined, plans are afoot though, i'll be sending some material over myself soon to be added. My friend knows I'm a big Smashing Pumpkins fan, so he sent me a message when he found it. He said that he discovered a CD with this remix on the tracklist and asked if I knew anything about it, obviously I never even knew it existed. Within 15 minutes I was listening to a FLAC rip which he sent to me.
It's as simple as that really, no dodgy deals, no ebay find, no rooting around the Sadlands dumpsters. Just an awesome find on a CD by someone archiving and cataloguing all the unreleased Frogs material. |
