Anyway... Pearl Jam are touring this spring. The announcement was supposed to be today but will wait til tomorrow. MSG on June 23/24 is pretty much a given, and there is a Dallas date. Bonnaroo is in mid-June. I expect the tour to cover the south (an area they neglected in 05-07), maybe going from Texas on east and then up the coast. I'd guess the MSG dates are near or at the end. Hopefully they also participate in the widely rumored VFC 08 tour. With the Rep. Nat'l Convention here, I'd hope we'd get a show from them this time around. |

why d'you find that so hard to believe? ten has dated much worse than their other records - sure it's got some classic songs but the whole thing sounds so overblown and overwrought even in comparison with vs and certainly all the records that followed.

I'd much rather have seent eh Vic show. I spent 6+ hours trying to get that last pair that was forever snagged in the ticket system.
Also, for Ten Club members the ticketing policy is different for this tour- rows 1-2 and 9-10 are randomly assigned, with seniortiy after that. Neat. |

it ain't overblown, overwrought or overrated, it just happens to sound different (better, imo). fretless bass is underused in rock, and eddie sounds good w/ reverb. whoever produced ten did a great job, obviously. i don't understand the "dated" comment either, but whatever. probably cause i'm more likely to like sth old than sth new to begin with

As much as I prefer many PJ albums to Ten (Vs., Vitalogy, Yield), it's a classic album.
I downloaded the official "bootlegs" of the 2 Camden shows, and the band sounds amazing, material from all eras blending together. Surely no other band other there has such a complete grasp/memory of their entire catalogue. |

I still think they'll do a VFC-like tour in October. Nothing really to base that on, but I really don't think they're done for the year.

The tour was bad-ass. Love seeing bands tour when they aren't trying to push an album.

barely my time zone. like, by a few miles.
It was still a 16 hour drive. If they didn't play Roo I wouldn't have seen them at all. was a kick ass setlist, though. only one I'd have swapped out is Gone. Can't beleive they didn't play Given To Fly. Set 1 Hard To Imagine, Corduroy, All Night, Why Go, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Down, Who You Are, Severed Hand, 1/2 Full, Animal, Even Flow, Daughter, Gone, Love Reign O'er Me, Do The Evolution, Rearviewmirror Encore 1 W.M.A., Better Man(Save it for Later), Black, Life Wasted, Crazy Mary, Porch Encore 2 No More, Release, Alive Encore 3 All Along The Watchtower |
