"I want to be there when you're happy, BUM BUM BADA BUM BUM BADA BUM,
I want to love you when you're saddddd, BUM BUM BADA BUM BUM BADA BUM"

Best part imo.
Jimmy's drumming owns.

There's nothing wrong with a "single" to drive the record.
dude there is no part of today that doesn't blend happiness with suicidal undercurrents. there is no 30 second clip that wouldn't have intriguing lyrical dichotomies in it: that song is art and copied no style. it was GENIUS and SPOKE FOR ITSELF.

DO NOT COMPARE TARANTULA TO CHERUB ROCK OR TODAY

Cherub Rock never sounded FUCKING STUPID

And to you guys saying its just 30 seconds... its the FUCKING CHORUS. Its the most important part of many Pumpkins songs. Take this SHIT and compare it to Today, Cherub Rock, 1979, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Stand Inside Your Love, Ava Adore... ITS TERRIBLE!
The funny thing is if "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" never came out and we were just hearing its chorus for the first time, everyone would be having this exact same reaction.

DESPITE ALL MY RAGE I AM STILL JUST A RAT IN A CAGE? WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN? THAT SHIT IS LAME BILLY CORGAN IS DEAD.

The record itself is no different than Gish or Siamese Dream in terms of who is playing on it. Live, that's another story.

since we're all making massive judgements based off of 30 seconds of compressed music i'm going to throw my 2 cents in and say it's a hit.

i must admit to myself that it's horrible... hope that 30 seconds are not enough to appreciate it.

I said it already in the other thread.

This really sounds like a mixture of SP and Zwan.
It seems like Untitled would fit perfectly on this record.

I have no problem with this direction...
It makes sense that he would go this way.

its hard to hear in the stream, but i can sense some distant synthing right when it starts with the cheesy vocals. it could just be a cheesy backup vocal, but it definitely has the same quality.

now you dumb asshole we would not. the ENTIRE IDIOM OF THE LYRICS IS RIDICULOUS!

this is a trend and a slope that billy has been sinking down for years, ever since Adore wasn't critically recieved. THIS SUCKS! I LOVED ALL THE ALBUMS UP THROUGH ADORE, and Machina had many good songs, but this is just crap. DON'T TELL ME I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SONGS I LIKE ARE STUPID, i NEVER DID. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN I FIRST HEARD BWBW AND I NEVER THOUGHT IT WAS STUPID, DICKHOLE.

the verse section with the chunky guitar offers a glimmer of hope, at least.

there is no synth. Maybe a weird vocal part, but that is not a synth. Again, you're hearing things.

Either way the overblown chorus is cringeworthy.

This could fit in with the rocking tracks on Machina II. A straight-ahead rock track. Probably to Zeitgeist what Cash Car Star is to Machina II.

Actually, way back when (yes, I'm old), AOL was one of the first to have a sneak preview of BWBW and it was like 30 seconds, maybe even less, of the chorus. And I thought the exact same thing, "what the fuck is this shit?". After the echo-ey, whispery, multi-tracked to hell Siamese Dream vocals, BWBW was whiny as shit.
