I imagine with all the radio royalties Jay Gordon collects off of Blue Monday and Stitches and Fiction and the trust fund situation with Elijah its not surprising that Deadsy and Orgy were hibernating for a while.

Those are eps though. This new one is an album. Orgy put out an ep a few years ago too. But they still aren’t a really active band.

TBM have put out an album every two to the three years for the last decade and a half. Compare that with NIN's output or Orgy's output or Deadsy's output

They are more under the radar than Deadsy or Orgy. Much more than Orgy. Their level of success is more comparable to Deadsy. Never had any hit songs. But developed a strong cult following. And they do chart on billboard. They are a Canadian group with a similar sound but with a female singer with an amazing voice. Ive known about them for a long time. Almost as long as Deadsy.

Further under the radar than Deadsy? But how can that be?!

One's a cover and the other two haven't been played since their label was paying radio to play them, so somehow I doubt it.

I think as soon as Elijah signed with Johnathan Davis' record label and started playing the Family Values Tour it all really went to his head. I remember interviews where he would say Deadsy are going to take over the world and there's going to be Deadsy merchandise for every occasion. Deadsy bathrobes etc. And then they ended up selling 150,00 copies of Commencement which forced the label to shut down and it all blew up in his face.

Saw Deftones and Taproot in St. Louis circa 2000. After that I'm not sure what happened to Taproot.

Years ago I saw Orgy at a club

They were bad

Jay Gordon’s new dubstep/trap sleaze music is hilarious

I lived next door to this club where all the burned out nu-metal late 90s acts played
I knew the owner well so I used to go for free or $5 and get blitzed
I’ve seen Saliva, Orgy, Fuel, Eve 6, Trapt, Cold, Blue October, VAST there
The only good band I saw there was VAST
...which, by the way, it’s a travesty that they never hit it big

I paid $15 to see Alien Ant Farm a few years back and don't regret it.

I saw Deftones here in 2007. And I think that was the same year Deadsy opened for them although Deadsy weren't opening when I saw them. And that was pretty much Deadsys' last year of being relevant and being an active band.

You know there is a Swedish band called Vanity Beach that constantly get compared to Orgy that I've known about for years. And somehow they have a Wikipedia entry although I have no idea why. They don't chart at all in the UK or the States. And I only found out about them through Deadsy's website. They have never been relevant at all. The Birthday Massacre are at least somewhat relevant. They play with some pretty big groups and they do chart on billboard.

I cant really think of a lot of female fronted nu metal / industrial bands that are as big as TBM. Kittie come to mind. Human Waste Project never really got that big. And then they became The Start and The Start had a different sound and were even less successful. And Jack Off Jill were like Human Waste Project. They didn't last that long and never really got that big either.

I did own that Human Waste Project CD and the first two theSTART albums & EP. Sold them last year during one of my big clutter blowouts. Not entirely sure they were any good to begin with.
