oh cool! do you have it in data files format or dvd/vhs format? if you have data files, can you create a magnet torrent link for it?

i deleted the 0% torrent for psycho tape after a month of waiting, hopefully someone has it and can magnet link it.

I have them in DVD format. Dunno the gen or anything. They're watchable. I need the Psycho tape now. I have about 800GB of live dvds. Wish the pumpkins had an online archive of some type.

i was thinking about the torrents here that have known issues, but have been preserved for archival reasons. i'm completely for that, it's a good idea.

but similar to how we also have the starseed adore demos II, why not also have the best "fixed" version of those that have drastic known issues like incorrect speed, noise, hiss, etc. alongside here as well?

i'm thinking mcis demos I, seq IV, etc.

the best 'fixed' version can also be updated / replaced if better versions are created later, while still preserving the original copies as well.

mcis demos I doesn't seem to have a clear source.
are they all a bunch of different bootleg cds? or are there other sources as well?
how much processing/editing has been done to them already? is one of those cds the source of the others? or is there one source they share, but that isn't out there yet?

the best sequence iv source already had noise reduction applied, if i'm not mistaken. (i think rider may have commented on this.)
this cannot be reversed. it would be best to find the original transfer or make a new one, and go from there. but it's not sure if this is possible.

yeah for sure, i get that a few of them are just the best we currently have.

i guess what i meant was for releases that aren't very listenable as they are (qaos full sides, mcis demos I, seq IV, etc.) we could just have:

- what we think is closest to the original source that we can find for archival purposes
and
- what we think is the best 'fixed' listenable version

and they can each be upgraded if and when better sources / versions surface?

listening to the sped up mcis demos I is just painful for me. i did my own track split and tidy up of qaos to listen to, but if there are decent 'fixed' versions of some of these circulating then i'm thinking they could be shared to save people doing their own fixes, or finding a shittier fix online.

at this point i think it's only you and me who even really care enough to discuss it to be honest! so if you aren't sure if it's worth doing maybe we shouldn't bother for now.

All the initial boots and most sources for MCIS Demos 1 are the commercial bootlegs. At some point in the late 90s or early 2000s somebody got an upgrade of the first 11 songs, Stumbleine through Marquis In Spades, and that got traded around. I had it listed as a second generation cassette in my notes. So whenever I traded it out to someone, all those tracks were upgraded and the rest were the old source. Not sure who else did it this way.

i'm assuming then that's an upgrade to what we have here in the magnet torrent, as our source for the torrent was just from the bootleg cd right?

are you happy to share the upgraded sourced tracks?
