Default What's your current mode of music listening?

Streamer? Stealer?

Listening from a shitty stream on a shitty phone with shitty speakers?

iPod vs. Zune?

Still rocking that Discman?

Me, I am clinging onto my 160 GB iPod Classic for dear life. Usually playing through a Bose mini-speaker.

I usually rock my phone when I'm at work or out and about; When I'm at home I stick to the stereo system w/cds. Unless I'm really stoned. Then I have a habit of listening with headphones whilst walking around the place. My SO thinks it's weird.

Srsly dough, when my iPod (it's my second one) shits the bed, I will be lost forever and may just kill myself (since they discontinued the Classic two years ago).

I listen to music on headphones with my phone when I'm out and about.

Or if i'm just chilling at home i'll listen to music on my laptop, mostly with headphones. I have decent speakers I could use but it's too much of a hassle to hook them up most of the time.

Local library on both.

I have an HP with decent Beats speakers. Took a year to get an external set but nothing fancy, a wired logitech pair that's an upgrade in fullness of sound.

on the road i just have an ever-revolving box of cd's tho cos i don't know, there's just something about grabbing a handful of albums before i'm leaving instead of having a million thrown at me when i'm just tryna get to the grocery store or somethin

i also like usin' flash drives, since my car has a usb slot now
it's pretty sweet

Yeah, but last time I checked, the cheapest one I could find was $500. Suicide seems easier to achieve at this point.

Shit man, I may have to buy one now just to invest in the future. The iPod is one of my all-time favorite inventions. I don't want to stream music (being beholden to the whim of a streaming service who will charge me/inundate me with ads and pull content at will) nor do I want music playing out of my phone (I don't care that my mom is calling, I'm in the middle of 2112, dammit!).

Spotify has some advantages people don't mention a lot. A lot of labels have weekly playlists, often with odd stuff that is not on their label. Its a good way to discover music. Likewise with shared playlists if you know someone with good taste.

Another thing is that bands will often have campanionate playlists with the songs that influenced whatever their new release is. Yo la tengo has a playlist just of the songs they have covered.

I'm honestly surprised so many here are still using pandora, torrents, and older stuff..

Yeah, I mean that sounds nice BUT

I'm kind of a tinfoil hat nut when it comes to my music. I want full control over what I listen to, and knowing that something I love listening to might someday disappear into the ether (aka the license to stream gets revoked by the publisher) makes me feel all sorts of bad inside. I'd rather just buy it and then use it in whatever fashion I see fit.

I'm a dinosaur, and I'm okay with that.

You can use a phone exactly like an ipod and you can set the priorities when you're receiving calls to not override the music.

There are even apps that will give you the ipod interface
