i watched the whole series. It's not bad. But at the end it seemed like they took a story that would have been great in a two hour film and stretched it out to 8 hours.

Sometimes I hated it and sometimes I loved it. It went between emotional to avant garde to contrived to enchanting. It reminded me a bit of Martyrs and iam videos weirdly enough. The ambiguity is great but also frustrating. Sometimes I got a Stranger Things vibe from the atmosphere and music. Visually stunning. I just don't know. I love it but hate myself for it

spoilers:

They could have created a much stronger ending and still left some ambiguity or mystery. Likewise, they could have included more to cast her story in doubt. The revelation of a stash of books at the end to me was flimsy. It was such a weak revelation compared to the hours and hours of narrative regarding her captivity. It pissed me off to have sat through all those episodes only to have that kid find 5 books under her bed, which effectively ended it altogether.

I think an implication may be that the fbi agent planted them. Her being mentally ill, or not, is all it takes to be ambiguity.

Brit Marling is amazing, though. IMO some of her other movies such as Another Earth and Sound Of My Voice are way better at both creating mystery/ambiguity and providing an interesting ending.

has anybody watched Westworld?

i was intrigued by the premise but am now very apprehensive about wasting my time on it, after i found out a Nolan is involved in it. and i have a great distaste for their particular brand of fartyness.

X files is rather dope. But wish it wasn't always so sexist with the "told ya scully" and moulder constantly touching her inappropriately

Damn that moulder, tho. Got a hell of a lower lip he does. I'd prob let him sexual harass me too

Buzzard will vehemently disagree with me on this, but shot for shot, scene for scene, rapid-fire fart joke after fart joke, this show comes off more like a serialized movie than a tv

It's just astounding quality, man

Bonus points: it's the only mainstream televisual media of which I'm aware that relentlessly confronts and hilariously savages the true American religion: major league sports

I loved the first season of Eastbound but I never watched the others. Seemed like something where the novelty could wear off quickly.

This is true, but on the flipside Mulder is nothing without Scully's discipline. He's a visionary, but she's the one with the skill set to bring his project to life and the skepticism to temper his wild impulses. Without her, he's basically just another little boy reading about aliens in a basement

Duuuuuuuuuuuuude nah son nah

It only gets better. Season 1 is merely the kickass lead off track to a whole album of hilariously rockin episodes. The writers go wild with the characters in a way that season 1 doesn't even attempt

I've watched Eastbound and Down four or five times, with the exception of the last season which wasn't great. Absolutely love the whole thing.

Finished watching Season 1 of The Exorcist.
It was alright. Some of the plot lines seem straight out of Supernatural, which is weird. Overall it's a decent show, if you just wanna mindlessly watch some priests being mopey and going "the power of christ compels you!!!" to a young girl, then i'd recommend it.

OMG me too, the 2nd season is my fave by far. Provides one of the more affectionate/accurate portrayals of small town Mexico I've seen anywhere, which is a really neat trick considering the show follows the exploits of a giant xenophobe

Breeg u missin out, u should watch it
