Sounds nice. Although I thought Make Believe and The Green album were average at best par a couple of songs, I thought Maladroit was great. Very guitar-ridden, had a nice band feel to it.
I shall give The Red Album a go once it hits the torrent sites. Now, another spin for Pork & Beans |

Pinkerton is one of my favorite albums of all time. Looking forward to this release.

i'm not a fan
but it's rooted in 14yr old highschool rivalries. weezer kids were not friends with pumpkin kids. no one was an exception. still today i can't get into them. i'd have a lot more respect if they named Pinkerton "the pink album" and stood in front of a pink background. and just stuck to doing "color" albums forever. |

My expectations for 'da Weez have decreased with each successive release since the blue album. Luckily, Pinkerton turned out to be one of those albums that takes time/maturity to "get". Unfortunately, that is not the case with Green, Maladroit, that live CD and Make Believe. Don't get me wrong, their songs remain pretty good/catchy musically. P&B has a good riff and solid power-pop chorus...but the lyrics...F-. I really hope the remainder of the album impresses me, but like Zeitshite, I'm thinking we're gonna have some decent music with some cringeworthy lyrics. Then again, Haunt You Every Day was their best track since Pinkerton. Then again, each band member is writing and singing a couple tracks on the album. Then again, no one really cares what I think or say. Bottom line: I'll still see them in concert for the 6th time if they visit my city, even if the Red Album sux.

rivers doesn't seem to have an authentic or sincere bone left in his body. it makes me sad that people are still hanging on and apologizing for the shit he's come up with since 2000, hoping for another pinkerton. the dude views songwriting and recording as a job and not things that he actually enjoys doing very much.

Alot of indie fags hate this song too. It doesn't surprise me. Not enough elaborate instrumentation and wankerery I guess.

anyone who doesn't like this unremarkable pop-rock song is an indie fag and elitist hipster.

Utterly amazing
Hopefully this cover means Rivers is embracing being an eccentric oddball again! |

On the other hand, I'm glad they've realized that the whole nerd w/glasses schtick worked because it went against the grain in 94 and was weisenheimerishly cool. When they put the sweaters and glasses on for the green album it was like they were trying to dress up as the weezer that everyone liked.

Love the elbow patches, by the way. Brian truly is on the cutting edge of rocker fashion. Can't wait for the video. To quote what someone once said here about something entirely different, the song is as catchy as AIDS. |

they look stupid. like rockstars full of shit as a christmas turkey. there's no way those four can do anything relevant, they're in love with themselves.

If the record has even half the amount of awesome that the cover does, then it'll blow Pinkerton right out of the water.
