Weezer's first two albums are the only ones that are good.

They've sucked for a long time now.

Nice.

Thanks for sharing bro.

I dig that track a lot. I was hoping for a slightly more elaborate bridge but what can you do?

Digging this a lot. More material like this could easily get Weezer back in my good books

"Timberland knows how the way to reach the top of the chart / maybe if I work with him I can perfect the art."

OK, Rivers.

Yeah, I'm digging it too, though I guess that's to be expected. I give post-2000 Weezer a lot more benefit of the doubt than most people.

I'm looking forward to the Red Album, though I don't know if we should expect this song to be a good reflection of the other tracks. After the initial rounds of recording, Geffen execs basically told the band that they needed to go back into the studio and record a hit single. So in satisfaction of and reaction to that demand, they recorded Pork and Beans. The rest of the album is supposedly more "experimental" and apparently less radio-friendly.

I read this too but I got the impression it was done solely in mockery of the record company, not to satisfy their request.

i like everything they've done pre-make believe. except for this is such a pity i fucking hated their last album. all the ones before it (including the unreleased albums and songs) i love. i've gotten really excited for this new album. the two other clips of songs i've heard make me excited too. Everybody Get Dangerous (in the movie 21) and the remix of Automatic from Gran Turismo 5 trailer.

Wow Blue album rehash much?

Saying this was good would be the equivalent of likening Zeitgeist to MCIS.

Rivers already said that

Fresh off his recent solo release, frontman Rivers Cuomo reports that "the album is meaty, crunchy and melodic like a good Weezer album should be,"

I would love to agree with most of you and say this song is awesome and sounds like something from when they did not suck but to me it just sounds slightly better than the crap they have put out on their last three albums. I listened to the song streaming about six times and it just does nothing for me.

It is ahead of anything on Make Believe, which was too "hi, I'm Rivers, and I'm sorry for being an asshole the past 10 years. here's some flowers" for me.
