Default Ask vixnix

I think I've told this board everything about myself anyway and I'm pretty sure nobody cares. But if there's anything else you want to know, I'd feel pretty good talking about myself some more. Maybe. Depends what you ask about I guess.

I dunno, from what I remember and from other dicks i've seen, I'd have to say pretty big. But he might have been a shower rather than a grower y'know? I never saw it erect.

Why do you and your husband have a problem with Muslims?

We don't... well he doesn't. I take issue with some aspects and applications of Muslim doctrine but I have no problem with Muslims in general.

Yeah once, in 1999. I was 19. I flew into New York on a 30 day stopover or something, but ended up staying a couple of months. I was with a friend and we met an Irish guy who invited us to take the Greyhound to New Orleans. We were Simon and Garfunkel fans and had romantic notions of Greyhound travel so we did. Spent maybe 4 nights there, heard some great music at preservation hall, and then the guy from Indianapolis I had met in NYC and been quite taken with invited us to stay with him in Indy and I went ahead there while she and the Irish guy went to the Catskills. She came to Indy and a friend if the guy was going to a gig in Chicago so we went up there, the friend knew where Billco's house was so he drove us past. I loved Chicago. A few days later the guys from Indy came back for another gig and picked us up, drove us home to Indy and then my friend went back to NY...I stayed on a bit and then went back. We had another couple of weeks there in NY and then flew on to England. We were going to go to the Late Show taping but I convinced my friend to go to Conan instead. We hadn't heard of Conan before getting to the states. We had a pretty wonderful time there. Lots of weed and alcohol and sex and music. It was everything we came for I guess but we didn't truly appreciate it at the time because we disn't realize that was what we came for.

I'd like to take a vacation in Berlin. Maybe a working vacation. I hate fly by tours, I like to take my time.

Ohhh don't know! That's hard. I suppose since my first son was born so that's 7 years now. .

My parents were very anti church. I had a conversion at 14 at a Christian camp I went to for fun, and I kept going back for a couple of years because they were fun. But the conversion only lasted a month before the mockery of my friends wore me down and I conceded my fundamentalist Christianity in fact made no sense to me even if I did want it to.

Oh. Um I don't know. I guess if he broke it with a story as good as that masturbation one I would be pretty happy about it just for the chance to read the story. He's a chronically underestimated genius IMO. I think Warren Zevon and Graveflower are the only two people I've met who can truly cheer me up on a shitty day because I know I can trust they've had it as hard and shitty as I have and there's some comfort in that, misery loves company I guess.

I liked his masturbation story too. He can write, I hope he tells more stories in his thread.

What are 2 or 3 of your favorite philosophers? Or maybe outstanding would be a better word - whose works really got to you and made you think, no matter if you agree or if they just upset you?

What song/piece of music do you feel is "yours"/touches you the most?

Do you think there is a "meaning of life" and if so - what is it for you?

Have you ever cheated on your husband since you got together?
Could you forgive him if he ever did?

Do you pray?

My favourite philosopher is David Hume. But philosophers who gave me turning points in my thinking that I remember are Jurgen Habermas and Galen Strawson.

Maybe O Vos Omnes by Thomas Luis de Victoria.

No, I don't think there is a meaning. I think we choose values for ourselves, both at a societal and individual level that we hold dearest to us and they are bound to change over time. At the moment my values are something like being present in each moment, not being afraid of my real feelings about things, engaging as fully and regularly as I can with the people I love, and being useful as much as I can. It's fairly incommunicable...in trying to describe it I just confuse myself and give a very incomplete and not very accurate version of what is really important to me.

I've never cheated on my husband. I was a terrible cheater with my boyfriend of four years, before my husband. Seeing the devastation and guilt and the breakdown of trust that caused...I knew I never wanted to be in that position again. Whenever I feel bored or attracted to someone else, I imagine how it will feel to tell my husband about it afterward and it's enough to put me off.

I could forgive him. I felt like he was cheating when I found out he had been watching porn secretly and nearly left him over that. But everything I want to do with my life, I want to do with him, I realized. So yes, I mean it would be a process and I would have a lot of strong feelings about it but I would forgive him.

Vivnix you really expected/demanded that he never view porn? If he was avoiding sex with you for porn that's one thing, but otherwise what's your problem?

I was really insecure and had body image issues when I found out, and he knew all about them when he was watching porn which I guess is why he didn't tell me. He started when I was heavily pregnant with our first son. It was hard being in my 20s and being a mother and not feeling sexy at all and I just felt like he had betrayed me, both by hiding something from me and by enjoying looking at other women's bodies when he knew I was feeling so bad about my own.

I was a lot like charmbag when we met and we had several arguments about porn and "victimless porn" and everything else and he agreed that it wasn't victimless and that he shouldn't watch it and told me he didn't want to any more and wouldn't. So he knew it would bother me at that level too and that if ge had started watching again, it was something he should have told me about.

So those were my problems. I'd care less now I guess. Part of him committing to stop watching was me committing to being more available and trying to be sexy again even if I didn't feel like I was anymore and that has been good for us so I think he needs it less and I feel more attractive...it's kind of ironic.

1. What are some of your favorite smells? Do you like perfume?
2. What do you think about when you go to sleep? When you wake up?
3. What are your hopes for your children?
4. If you could go back and decide again whether to marry your husband, would you make the same decision?

1. Roses, garlic warming in fat - olive oil, cheese, butter etc., lavender, citrusy stuff - bergamot, neroli, newborn breastfed babies, my children, my husband. Yeah I do like perfume.

2. I go to sleep with my kids usually so I have to imagine something peaceful, so they can feed off my breathing and relax. I usually imagine we're living in a traditional society and I can hear the cracking of a fire, smell the earth and trees and plants about me, feel the crispness of the air. Sometimes I imagine we're at the beach and I feel delighted at how warm I am lying on my towel on the hot sand. Sometimes I have to clear my head of all thoughts and just notice my breathing.
In the morning I think what time is it? Can I workout and shower at the gym before I come home?

3. I guess my biggest hope for them is that they'll grow up and not wish they'd had different parents, and that they'll be emotionally secure enough to really enjoy their particular gifts as human beings, and form good connections with others.

4. Right now today I would. Not always. It changes. Marriage takes work...it's a long road and I think it's pretty normal to ask that question and think that you would choose differently. We've been together 8 years now. To think we have we have the rest of our lives together, I mean we both have a better appreciation of what that means now, the work it will take, the growing we'll have to do, the vulnerability and hurt we'll have to feel. It's easy to think, should I have waited for someone else to do this with. But he was the first and only person I could be completely honest with. It's a rare thing. I don't think I'll ever find that again. Ok I'm just rambling now.

Oh I do that nearly every day, I'm terrible. And now I do it with my kids too.
Definitely the skunk...who wants a turkey?? The chickens were bad enough. Actually what do skunks eat...it's cleaning up after it that's the problem. I guess if I could free range the turkey in a run of it's own and not have to clean up after it too often, probably the turkey.
Only paper ones at school, I know they don't count!
Never in water or juice but in soda or mixed drinks yes
No, I lack the patience. I usually dig a pool and make channels down to the water.
