I turned a shitload of young little teens onto Weezer back in the day before their "comeback".

I don't know that there was ever a " time where it was cool" to say that Pinkerton was good. I think it was just one of those albums that didn't get promoted at the time and grew slowly due to the word of mouth reaction and of course file sharing online made it easy to check out.

It's funny, I remember a time as a kid in like 97 or 98 when the Blue Album was always like the Uber mark-down record, just the cheap 4.99 album in the discount bins from the forgotten "buddy holly music video band". Their resurgence really was a cult-driven thing. If only they could have capitalized off of it.
