Aw but it's so good. Really. It has its gross parts, but it's really just a great, tragic story. And Jeff and Geena have great chemistry. It's so good from every perspective.

Why do you guys need to talk about this in what started out as a great thread?

I can't watch movies where people are sad and feel helpless. I already feel like that and it gets amplified even if it's a movie.

What about Inseminoid? That's a gem (well not really a gem, it's a very very low rent alien rip off)

But look at that guy!

Halloween parties used to b cool but I can't do them (or any) parties anymore because the drinking stresses me out 2 much

I don't typically crave alcohol on a daily basis anymore, but if I go to somewhere people are happily imbibing all I wanna do is punch them in their faces, drink their drinks, smash empty glasses, then run into the towns and drink all the other drinks

Til I'm dead

I'm generally not either. I'm sort of similar to Bonnie in that regard. But I do love the campy 80's horrors to death. For example, anyone else absolutely love the Ghoulies series?

Ghoulies 2 is the bomb

http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/...20100617233647

I love 80's horror's were the special effects and the creatures/monsters are all naturally made. None of this cop-out CGI baloney.

Ghoulies is kind of a crappy movie (pun most definitely intended) but that VHS art definitely scared the shit out of me (pun most definitely intended) as a kid in the late '80s/early '90s.

I always make it a point to re-visit all the classics this time of year. Tomorrow, the gf will be treated to a screening of Evil Dead II (an all-time personal favorite).

Tom Savini was the master of practical effects. Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Creepshow, Friday the 13th, Friday the 13th Pt. IV, The Burning...

The '80s were the golden age for practical effects. I'll still take effects that look somewhat dated over CGI bullshit that looks like a video-game any day of the week.

I mean, take The Terminator for example. Some of those effects haven't held up so well, but they actually have weight. You get the sense that what is happening on screen IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING! I just don't get that from most films these days.

I'm just gonna watch early treehouses of horror and eat dirt-worm pudding thanks. I thought about going out to Princeton (spooky town) and doing a historic ghost tour and then eating at someplace local and organic but

Good choice. I plan on busting out a few old-school Treehouse of Horror episodes tomorrow, along with said screening of Evil Dead II. It doesn't always have to be blood & guts and pure terror.

But it would be expensive and require leaving the house and pretending I'm like everyone else my age: happy and well adjusted? Or at least good at pretending to be?

Man I won't go to Arby's and that's saying a lot. I'm far from a food snob
