Question Three Original Members

Was three original members from 96-00 (Arising excepted) far better than three original members now? I say yes.

Yes, because those tours didn't have Jeff

Having him play just kills everything, seriously. This guy has been the hallmark of the worst output in the band's history, and now he's vestigally up onstage getting in the way of Iha

I could almost get over the D'arcy thing if Jeff wasn't involved, honestly

Machina tour was incredible. They played a 3-4k seat venue in my area and of course it was sold out. The only thing that was beat was, there was no opener and we stood there for nearly 2 hours before Billy decided to come out and start the show.

Now? It's fat and old Billy (the man who brought you Being Beige and thought that would be a good idea) attempting to do an ARENA tour. This is going to be a disaster and I'm loving it

Just knowing about some of the stuff that Corgan's other bandmates had to go through working with him, I wonder how Schroeder has endured Corgan so long. Corgan must deem him loyal enough for him to be one of the few people he hasn't tossed under a bus after a decade of working together.

Like, Shroeder is an educated doctorate in critical literary analysis. Imagine the stupid shit he has to listen to Corgan say and nod his head along to when Corgan is trying to sound smart and informed on something literary or artistic, or is just stringing nonsense metaphors together to sound profound.

Shroeder is probably an empty, cracked seashell of the man he once was at this point.

Or he found himself a really solid music gig that makes him money doing what he loves to do (play music). It's not like he's at Billy's wrestling tea parties hanging out on his spare time. Pretty sure he didn't even show up to the Owata music video.

Jeff’s body language really gets to me. The hunched shoulders, downward/vacant gaze, everything bespeaks a man who’s consciously decided to be the submissive puppy, rolling onto his back to expose his tender belly to the barking big dog. Hard to respect him as a musician based on that alone

Surrounded by "yes" people...Jeff. Strawberry. His child-wife. His bevy of 20something girlfriends. Jimmy, to a point. He's a shit.

That says it all right there. That's exactly how I feel. I'm a little bummed about D'arcy, but I feel like it still could have been pretty good. But Billy had to go and get "whatever Asian guy to play guitar" as D'arcy said.

The dude has been front and center for some of the worst music Billy has ever made.

He kinda reminds me of a long lost son of John Lennon but less interesting.

If you dropped Jeff and Brought back Melissa for the tour, That honestly would have been the best.

omg... stop thinking melissa would even be remotely interested, or if billy would even consider her. she's not integral in any way. it's the equivalent of wanting kenny arnoff back or mat walker... whatever. have them show up for a song or two but they all get a big yawn from me.

It's true. The bigger deterrent for not wanting to go is Jeff. I don't want to hear Jeff. It's one thing if he was the second guitarist and no James. But with James there it's complete bullshit that Jeff is still involved. You know it has to be a sore point with James deep down that he's having to share a stage with him.

it might be a sore point if you give a single shit on what arena stage you stand and who stands "over there."
if you don't, and see it as a business schedule that pays - does it matter?

I would assume Billy saying "tommy lee is the greatest drummer I ever played with" after having let a kid from Burger King tour worldwide as SP drummer, or anything else over the past 30 years might be a sore point for JC, too.
That might be very deep down. much further up is the arena sale.

Well James not wanting to record an album pretty much says what the extent of his intere$t is.

I didn't say Melissa would have been interested. She brought the heat back during the Machina tour and the final shows. Good enough for me.

Billy prefers bandmates who display diminutive body language

vs. extreme eyeroll
