Yeah I was a little shocked at the prospects of you never hearing that. I know you keep on top of what's going on and all.

A little surprised you haven't heard that Custom song. But apparently it was actually out in 2002 or something, so it's a little after the 3rd wave grunge bands.

As far as bands being the equivalent shittiness as Tonic, I think Vertical Horizon is a pretty good competitor.

Forgot they even existed until looking at that Mark Mcgrath cruise add

I just wikipedia'd Custom.

I read this:

"Minor controversy erupted when the music video for the song "Hey Mister" was banned from MTV. The video follows a young woman (22-year-old actress) as she frolics on the beach, hangs out with the singer, and goes shopping. The music video featured the song's sexually suggestive lyrics being written on the woman's skin as well as upskirt shots exposing her underwear. The video was banned, as the MTV Standards and Practices division felt that the entirety of the video and song were "pedophilic and offensive to women".[1]"

So maybe that's why you never heard it over there

I like OLP. I've seen em live several times and they always put on a good show. It's really all about their first 2 albums though.

I don't think I ever even bothered to listen to the first 2 OLP albums. I just know the singles from them. But I gave Happiness a shot and really liked it. Some really powerful emotional stuff on that one. And great drumming.

oh man, you should check em out then. They're not "great" but theres definitely some good stuff on em. Not sure if this song made it over to the states, it was a minor single in Canada and it's always been one of my fave OLP tracks.

Yeah, no doubt. That custom video seems outright plain compared to the stuff they're airing nowadays.

Between the thread on Offspring and the mention of Our Lady Peace today, it's like the forum conspired to remind me of my absolutely horrible mid 90's music tastes.

Billy somewhere asked why Dave Grohl gets attention but he doesnt. He is really confused by this? Billy isnt a hip guy in his old age. The dude is awesome but its clear to me why. The foo's continue to rock and put out loud singles.

I was just reminded of how fucking awful a lot of 90s music really was. I completely forgot about most of these singles until you folks posted them on here. This should give some perspective to all those millennials who are wearing rose-colored glasses about the 90s. I don’t think I can stand reading another melodramatic article praising the 90s by someone who was born in 1993.

If you're going to post "lesser known" 90's songs, play something halfway decent

I seem to remember people thinking those "bandwagon grunge" bands were phoney in the 90s.

Frogstomp was a jam. Those kids kicked out some Sabbath sounding tunes better than dudes twice their age.

Middling 90s bands are unacceptable. Middling 2010s bands only.

No ones mentioned Local H yet. They were definitely in that 2nd wave of grunge bands. They've put out several albums but I've only heard their first. It actually has some quality songs on it.

This was their big hit

It's aged pretty well

Or how about when all those hair-metal bands started putting out grunge albums in the mid-90's? That was pretty comical.

Some of it wasn't that bad though, this songs pretty sweet

Killer guitar solo and outro. Guy had some grade-a fucking pipes, he just kills it on the outro
