Would anyone mind if I made another thread about top 10 PJ songs? I think that might be even more interesting.

Use this thread. There's enough discussion in here already that people who've already posted will come back to it.

If we limit to strictly studio album songs, i.e. no live versions/covers, no B-sides, etc., then my picks are (don't ask me to order them, because I can't):

Of the Girl
Black
Indifference
WMA
Save You
Glorified G
Who You Are
Brain of J
Do the Evolution
Immortality

Glorified G sounds so different than PJ's other songs. I don't know but I've always liked it.

I BARELY excluded Aye Davanita from my list, so I'm not the best person to ask.

In all seriousness, they're not particularly great songs, even compared to other songs on Vs. I can't really explain- I just like them.

In terms of songwriting, I think Elderly Woman or Rearviewmirror might be the 'best' on the record, but they just don't appeal to me musically as much as Glorified and/or WMA do.

I wasn't lying when I said this, either.

My current wallpaper is the page from the Vitalogy liner notes with "Aye Davanita- The Song Without Words" on it.

Do you also like Hummus at the end of Yield?

I don't mind it. I don't skip back to the beginning when I play Yield or anything. The only 'weird' song by them I don't really care for is Heyfoxy... and Writer's Block, I suppose. At worst I'm indifferent to them.

My friend who usually attends the local PJ shows with me would shit her pants if they ever played Bugs live.

At Boston '04 someone had a 'Play Bugs' sign hanging from the rafters. I got a kick out of that.

haha I think Bugs may be on the list of songs they've never played, I'm pretty sure it is.

On a related topic, anyone that owns Binaural, what do you think about the way they recorded it binaurally? Do you think it sounded any different or if it added anything?

imho, ten>vs>vitalogy>no code>yield>binaural>riot act...i've still not heard the new one, just not in the mood to listen to them lately and don't care for the singles.

10 fav songs:
oceans
wash
jeremy [evenflow and alive are obviously classics, but radio killed em. somehow i still love jeremy and black]
black
indifference
daughter
corduroy
dirty frank [really, i wish this side of them showed up more often]
release
last one...i dunno...i'm gonna say leash [...GET OUTTA MY FUCKIN FACE!!]

It makes it an interesting headphone listen, but that's about it.

The coin drops in Of the Girl are the only thing I thought was 'cool' about the recording.
