Nah, if anything they took the wind out of pretentious people. Frasier and Niles were usually the fools by the end of each episode. I found it to be a pretty consistently funny show for most of its run, and I am below middle-class and not college educated.

haha yeah, but not only that. His whole getup was lame, the dumb little sweater and all and I thought the song was a weak attempt at capitalizing on the success of 1979 (of course the video cemented vindicated that opinion).

I remember buying the album and thinking mannnnnnnn this fucking sucks! I ended up trading it in at the used music store shortly after.

Of course I like it a little more now. Shame and Nightmare Lives on are up there with the classics, but I think the albums now grossly overrated by fans... It was a massive downgrade from SD and MCIS and the beginning of the end as far as I'm concerned.

it's an amazingly twisted album but it's really nothing more than a collection of shitty drum-box demos and live studio sessions. obviously the record is a radical departure from the past but it's not that freaking amazing. the viper room show and early live shows are better than the actual record. why? because they forgo the $100 beat box and the feeling that the entire record is composed of abandoned recording sessions.

I love the studio sessions but the electro-metal stuff is utter trash

I've said this like 10 times but fucking To Sheila, Once Upon a Time, Nightmare, For Martha, Blissed and Gone, the CRC stuff on the reissue are great. An album of all stuff like that would've been amazing and been such a logical, beautiful, smart step to take after the bombast of MCIS and its world tour.
