Default Can we talk about NIN

Because Reznor is pretty awesome. I saw them live not too long ago and I was not disappointed.
How can this dude still be so good at what he does?

It's strange how much popularity he has retained as well. Like amongst people my age, from what I've observed NIN is the 90's band they're most likely to dig. Probably because of the beats, idk.

I'm gonna be blasphemous and say The Fragile is pretty ovverated though.

The Downward Spiral is one of my favorite albums.
Pretty Hate Machine weirds me out because the first hqlf is great but the second half is complete shit.

People are poison" is a really lame song title. Not that titles really mean anything. But c'mon

Yeah you're right, good bands have cool song names like "Head Like A Hole" or "Help Me I Am In Hell" or "My Violent Heart" or "Piggy (Nothing Can Stop Me Now)" or "Terrible Lie" or

The best parts of NIN are just when Reznor is screaming

I think the best parts of NIN, live and in studio, are when Robin Finck is involved. Like way better. Like when JC is involved with Pumpkins better...

Seriously, if Finck wasn't in the band, I wouldn't be going to the upcoming Soundgarden/NIN "Hey lets play shittty outdoor venues and both sound like our own greatest hits bands and pretend we're still relevant instead of just nostalgic" tour.

I love NIN. Unabashedly.

But probably skipping the Soundgarden tour. Shit venue far away and the same night as Beyonce.

Unless he busts out my dream setlist tonight I guess. Shrug

You'd rather go to Beyonce instead of NIN and Soundgarden? What the hell is wrong with you!?

I'm a huge fan of NIN and have seen them live five times.

I am also one of those folks that felt The Fragile was overrated and bloated.
If it was cut down to a single disc, then yes it could have been a great album.
But I find it to have a lot of filler.

I've been disappointed with Reznor's more recent output with With Teeth being the last album that I could listen to straight through. I love Broken and The Downward Spiral.

But he's been starting to sound a bit of same old same old lately...
Hesitation Marks was a step in the right direction, but still felt kinda empty.

I did not like Year Zero at all and honestly can't tell the difference from his side project How To Destroy Angels to anything NIN.

But I do love his soundtrack work with Atticus Ross and feel that this is where he should now focus his energies more.

The Downward Spiral and With Teeth are my two favorite albums from him.
The Perfect Drug is one of my favorite songs.
