I think about getting a maid ALL. THE. TIME. and I am ashamed of it.

We live in a 4bdrm, 3 bathroom condo + maid's room & ensuite, and I am currently homeschooling our kids.

Homeschooling is no fucking joke. We do language arts, spelling, vocabulary, maths, science, history and geography every day, and then their music practice which I often have to help with.

I cook breakfast and dinner every day and lunch most days, and we have no dishwasher so I wash a lot of pots and pans. That's no joke either. My hands are chapped and dry from all the cleaning. I go to get my nails done and the ladies are all like "You don' have maid, ah? So dry. Too dry." They actually cut a lot of dry, calloused skin off, from around my nails. It builds up again over the next month and then they wag their fingers at me again. "You have too short nails, nex time I give you long nail, then you say your husband I no do housework! I ruin my nail!"

I get the evenings to myself, by which time I can netflix and chill for a couple of hours before getting up and doing it all over again.

There are a lot of women who want or need the work. So it's tempting in some ways.

But it's just too fucked up, to me. Where I come from, people just don't have maids. And I kinda like that. The day you get someone else to clean your toilet is the day you lose touch with the lowlife piece of shit you truly are, at your core. Not a good thing. We're all a bunch of degenerates here. Let's not lose sight of that.

FTR i have never said i was fired for being trans. It did end my marriage, though. Last straw and all that. Losing my job simply happened at the same time.

Have you considered moving, now that there's nothing really holding you there? Seems like it's full of bad memories maybe. Maybe go get some sunshine in San Francisco or something, for a while. Hang in there.

Very few poors in Singapore . Apparently as a nation SG has the highest number of millionaires per capita, in the world.

At any rate, because we're expats and the local schools won't accept then unless they pass a government test (which very few expat children pass), and the Australian International School would cost $90k SGD for one year, for our two kids, there wouldn't be very many poors at school. Probably more like spoiled expat kids.

Even local government schools here would cost us about $20k per year. In fact, we would be the poors at school.

We can't truly afford to spend that much on schooling so we're putting the same money toward a house depsoit instead, and on travel. We're only travelling because if I have nothing to look forward to, homeschooling is pretty depressing. I love my kids and I love spending time with them and teaching them but it is really hard having my whole life subsumed by raising them and educating them.

We're probably heading home to New Zealand after Singapore and they'll just go back to government schools there, like they were at in Sydney.
