i seek out v-neck (or u) shirts and halter/sleeveless button-ups because they make me feel taller and they're comfortable. i feel like a claustrophobic sassage with shirt collars right around my neck; i h8 anything around my neck.
but i was way into turtle-necks as a kid and currently have one in black. i've not worn it since it was purchased, tho. |

structurally it's kind of impressive, if overwrought
but knowing that literally every action/suspense sequence is ALL A DREAM is such a wet blanket. the stakes aren't simply aren't high enough to carry the viewer along (well, this one anyway) |

I haven't managed to watch inception - I have tried a couple of times but I just keep ignoring it to post on netphoria instead.

i personally think nolan is vastly overrated
his films look expensive and i guess you could say are well shot but at least for me there's something very unlikable about them |

i've gotten copious amounts of enjoyment from nolan's shit, i haven't seen everything, but memento was engaging even if some might call it "gimmicky," the batman movies were the best superhero movies i've seen so far, inception was intriguing, but i haven't seen that one with bill murray yet (forgot what it's called, included in that nolan classics pack or whatev someone got on bluray a while back)

I was gonna say i think the only movie of his actually like is the prestige.
Well no memento is ok (havent seen in like a decade though, maybe i'd change my mind) and Following too. Also havent seen interstellar. |

haven't watched the prestige. i'll give it a try, though hugh jackman and christian bale in the leading roles seems a bit much
of all of nolan's films i think Insomnia is decent. it's not brilliant but it manages to create a nice atmosphere, and robin williams as a villain is at least interesting. plus it's very simple and low key, and thankfully lacks the grandiose budget feel of nolan's later films. i still don't get why he's so highly regarded though |

memento and insomnia are sound
as for where he's at now, though, i think he got a lot of leverage out of making a batman movie that wasn't complete garbage and aside from the prestige it's been blockbuster crowdpleasers since then |

Seven Psychopaths
Black comedies are my fave so I enjoyed this overall, especially the twisted logic of some of the "psychopath" characters. The movie-within-a-movie-which-is-actually-this-movie format had potential but its execution was a bit too fragmented, and the attempts at self-awareness missed the mark. Like, constantly referencing the lame stuff that happens in movies doesn't make it less lame when you still do it. |

I didn't like it. It's like someone still thought this was the 90's. Also whenever you have a movie where the character is a screenwriter i think it's the writer writing about being a writer...how narcissistic. The movie already started with a strike against it too because it has Sam Rockwell who i just don't like.
What sucked more too is the same guy did In Bruges and i like that film a lot. |
