pretty much. also why should it be any other way, why should they be a relevant band in 2017? they had a great run, few bands make it as far as they did in the 90s.

But then the band still inspires a cult like following of Hallowed Ground, with a much smaller subset of people
Last time Violent Femmes came through (a few years ago), they were opening for Barenaked Ladies, so I'm not so sure about that.

Smashing Pumpkins a cult band?

They're like a mainstay on rock radio. It's clear that their touring success results directly on the back of the singles and their old albums.

You mean when they tour and the arenas have to put up curtains because the place is 3/4th empty?

Has that actually been happening at SP shows?

If so, where, and for how long?

Bolly's belly, ballons AND curtains in 3D on BluRay? Makes it even more interesting to look at...

To be fair Cornell got himself a nice, high-profile James Bond theme song.

It was never going to be 199X again, but Chris never really vanished into the mists of irrelevancy the way BC & SP did.

the SG reunion albums also seemed to be pretty respectable and his side-project during the break-up was actually fruitful/successful and not a shit-show of name-calling and binned releases

i think Billy mighta won in the solo album department, tho

And that was after tickets for those shows were dumped on groupon.

For the DVD they also desperately tried to find last minute people on craigslist.

right, I had already forgotten about the - what was it, something like 25 bucks? - tickets on groupon.

wasn't that NYC craigslist gig also the one with ads for "hot models" for the first rows?
good times.

dang, I had no idea. all I remember about 2008 gigs was fairly small venues on the euro leg.

That was an irritating watch

Why even film that show when you have an amazing show at the sold out Metro waiting to be released? That has 'all the classics' plus a non-embarrassing performance

Has anyone on here actually bought that thing? What are the 'bonus interviews' like?
