Speaking of the marbling effect....
When I received my copy of the Rocket 7" box (not the box set but one of the 1500 with the sticker) I thought whoever had it at first had some dirty fingers when handling it. After some perfectionist inspection, however, I have come to the conclusion it's actually a grey marbling effect in the peach vinyl. When I angle it in the light I don't see anything on the surface so I'm sure it's actually in the vinyl.
I would ask those of you who have one to check yours and tell me if you notice the same effect in yours or if it might have only occured in a certain amount of the pressings. Like I said, I'm pretty much 100% sure it is a marbling effect and not smudges.... so I'd appreciate the feedback, I'm obviously real curious about this. |

i see no grey on my record. When i held it up to the light i can see the marbling effect but it doesn't look grey. When i look at it normally, it just appears a solid flesh tone.

well, I swear mine's grey, but I guess I could prove it and try to get a good pic of it, but I'm not sure it would be accurately representative of the true color.....hmmm

i imagine there were slight inconsistancies in the pressing. if it doesn't wipe off and you believe its inside the vinyl, you don't have anything to worry about.

I wouldn't worry...this effect is often due to the wax not being mixed until 100% homogenous. For example, some Purple SD vinyls have blue/red blotches in the swirl, and others have just varying degrees of purple tones.
Don't worry about it. |

ok
Well, I'm not really worried about it, I just think it's cool and it might make it a little more unique.....
Thanks, B
