Merrie Holidays & Happy New Year!

As a thank you for supporting the Smashing Pumpkins Record Club (SPRC) this year, Billy went digging in the vaults and found this beautiful holiday song called Have Faithe, Be Merrie. We hope you enjoy it!

There is so much in store for you in 2012, from the new album Oceania to the EMI Reissues to special SPRC offers and exclusives. Hint: we've seen songs from Pisces Iscariot, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, pre Gish demos and "the Rubano Tapes" being worked on in the studio. We will make some cool stuff that you can only get at www.smashingpumpkins.com and other fun places online. And last but not least, there's been some talk of a very special tour for next year...

Did you notice in that IG post he states , “making a first SP Christmas album “? You can’t have a first unless there’s a second... maybe it will also be 2 EP’s. Big plans in 2019 indeed. The SP are making Several Christmas albums. U heard it here first, Monte

Without knowing any of the details, I know a Christmas album will sound like Ogilala with bright piano, shout-singing, vague lyrics, with the words "Christmas" and "winter" thrown in. It's already dead to me.

I think the only approach that can result in interesting material is if he did something radical to put himself into a zone, along the lines of the residency, but now that he has a family and he's talking Christmas albums, I know there's less than zero chance of this happening. Maybe he should let James and Jimmy write some songs, anything at this point, see if it sticks.
