Question Is anyone optimistic about Ricky Gervais filming a David Brent movie?

It's tentatively titled "Life On the Road" and will follow Brent and his band as they tour the UK. Filming begins next year.

I loved The Office and thought Gervais was perfect as Brent, but I haven't really liked anything he's done since.

He's obviously come to terms with the fact that The Office was his best work, but I don't have all that much confidence that he can recreate the magic of that show so many years down the line and on the big screen.

I thought Extras was really good but i haven't checked his latest. As for movies, more miss than hit.

It DOES feel a little like he's going back to something safe but.. can't get enough Brent really.

As a comedian or just..person... he's one of my favorite. I like that he can be such an asshole.

Yeah, I suppose some of Extras was really quite good, but it wasn't as laugh-out-loud funny as The Office, and at times it felt like it was trying too hard to be clever.

"I was expecting a blind date and I was worried you were it." That show had so many quotable lines per episode.

By far my most commonly used Office quote has to be "I think there's been a rape up there!"

Also "not for me, i like it". Because of that character one of my goal in life has been to try a scotch egg. I think at this point i'll just have to make it myself though.

That's one of my favourite lines in anything. I used to quote this (slightly more obscure) line too : "Because the regime don't like it, man..."

Also "I said i'm not interested, i'm making shitloads in computers"

Even if like "not for me, i like it" its not David brent saying it.

"I landed on my wheels, pulled over and said, 'What were you so worried about?'"

that's a paraphrase, can't remember it word for word.
