I know it's not. It's silly when you isolate it from the rest of the song, but it's actually great.
Also, "if you're giving in, then you're giving up. In your sad machines, you'll forever stay, burning up in speed, lost inside the dreams of teen machines." Is another fucking excellent sequence, sonically and lyrically. |

Heavy Metal Machine is ok with me. Yeah it's kind of dumb but I always thought there was a dimension of intentional self-parody in there. The main problem with it to me is just the crappy guitar tone. The end is pretty intense.

i hate his voice on it, the riffs suck
the chorus is kind of ok but i dunno i'm a fan of the dense production on machina but i think they blew it on that one |

agree 100% but HMM is supposed to be sort of a caricature of bloated cock rock. it's meant to be ugly.

it just has no teeth
the production of the album doesn't work on heavier moments when it gets dreamy though it absolutely kills |

Oh my god the Hummer outro.
Once Billy stops singing and starts playing guitar it's the best fucking thing ever. Every version (199x-2008) is so beautiful and good. Also Whir. |

Whir is amazing also.
How about the 2007 version of Shame? Always loved the distortion parts, gave the song a different perspective for me |
