Default Zeitgeist cover song contest: Deadline extended and prizes added

Due to the holidays and recent exposure by SmashingPumpkins.com , we have extended the deadline for the Zeitgeist cover song contest to February 7th, 2008.

Also, we have added two additional prizes to the 'best cover song" portion of the contest., In addition to the Zeitgeist (Album of the Year Edition) 2 disc set, we have added the 7" vinyl singles of "Tarantula" and "That's The Way" (My Love Is) from the UK. We would have added a Zeitgeist vinyl to the mix, but there currently is no vinyl for the album.

We know it's not much, but its something a little extra. Sorry we can't afford to send you to SP shows (someone suggested that on SP.com) or buy you guitar gear or give you cash (suggested here on Netphoria) :P

If you want to submit your own cover, please go to
http://www.thepumpkins.net/zeitgeist_contest_upload

Please read all the rules, prizes, and incentive information before submitting your cover.

To recap the prizes: Currently, those who win the draw get a copy of the silver Zeitgeist (Album of the Year Edition) and the Ghost Children 2/Friends and Enemies SP fan tribute charity compilation (http://www.act4.net/ghostchildren2.htm). The winner for the draw is picked at random, but if you read the info on ThePumpkins.net, you can learn how you can get additional entries into the draw to increase your chances if you are so inclined.

The 'best cover' portion of the contest is based on votes by fans through ThePumpkins.net If your cover is rated as the best cover by fans, then you win the silver Zeitgeist, and the 7" vinyls for "That's the Way" and Tarantula".

Here are links to the two vinyls:

Also, a reminder that SlingeroGuitaro here at Netphoria has offered to mix your submissions for free. You may recall that he mixed the "Ma Belle" cover that was posted here.

rock on,
David

Oops, yeah I meant to say that. I'll change that if I can.
