An anonymous woman has come forward alleging Tool’s Maynard James Keenan of raping her when she was 17, backstage at an A Perfect Circle/ Nine Inch Nails show in 2000. Taking to Twitter under the name of “@IWas17HeWas36″ the story has since been shared multiple times around the platform.

The woman described her experience of being lead backstage without her boyfriend, into a private room with Maynard in which he performed non-consensual sexual intercourse whilst the two watched a movie. She has said that 18 years on, she is still, “working through the trauma of that assault.”
