Mitch is my state senator. He's the one that pressed for all the zero-tolerance (but no rehab) drug laws in KY. He's an asshole but I am leaning that he had no idea this was happening (and it has probably been happening for a while). He strikes me as the sort of guy that it's possible he could have blown the whistle on himself, say maybe he found out about this sort of thing happening and was outraged and the other ppl were like "you're in this too deep mitch - you owe the chao family".

I mean come on the Chao family gives him "gifts" between 5 and 20 million dollars making him one of the richest senators and then he marries a daughter of the family giving him this money. This was a Chao family boat that he barely had anything to do with. It was another "gift." WHHHYYYYYYY

That's a plausible scenario. I could come up with one that would pin it on him just from what went public yesterday.


A combination of the two would have this as a warning to McConnel to play along with what's about to come down the pike for some other political luminaries. His family's safe little game just went bust and that wasn't by chance.
