Even though my guy couldn't bother his hole writing a review here's my mix.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/mx2f56

1. David Shire – Taking of Pelham 123(main title)
2. Sparks – Dick around
3. The Jesus Lizard – Thumper
4. Reverend Horton Heat – 400 bucks
5. Therapy? – Big cave in
6. Klaus Nomi – Lightning strikes
7. Swans – I am the sun
8. The Redneck Manifesto – Please don’t ask us what we think of your band
9. Pissed Jeans – I broke my own heart
10. Stephen Jesse Bernstein – Come out tonight
11. Porno for pyros – Packin’ 45
12. Frank Zappa – Bobby Brown goes down
13. The Bad Plus – And now we test our powers of observation
14. Ornette Coleman – Ramblin’
15. Charles Mingus – Goodbye Porkpie hat
16. Elvis Costello – When I was cruel
17. The Books – A little longing goes away
18. The Breeders – Off you
19. Luke Kelly and The Dubliners – The Auld triangle

It's untagged because I've been trying for ages to retag it with no success. I'm limited as to what software I can use here etc.

Anyway, it's a mix of two halves that starts out quite furious and mellows into some jazzy stuff towards the end. I think it's amaaaaaazzzziiinng.

I've been listening to my mix for a few weeks now as i have been on vacation and am ready to give a review of it..
TRACK 01: have not heard this before and it seemed like i wouldn't like it at first but after the song ended i just wanted to go back and listen to it again. very catchy guitar riff and an overall nice sound. one of my favorites from the mix.
TRACK 02: i don't have this song on my computer but it's so popular that it gets by just fine without being on here, but im glad it now is. song speaks for itself without review, but i will say that i've been playing this around our apartment lately and is sneaking into our daily playlist.
TRACK 03: i really like the chorus to this song, but i wasn't always in the mood for this one for some reason.
TRACK 04: the mix changed up a bit with this song, but this song is good. i don't know who it is and it was a pretty nice song to listen to while driving. in fact this playlist was suited for driving it seems.
TRACK 05: my least favorite song of this mix. the music fit the flow of the mix, but i was pretty soured by Ben after I left college.. I guess i left him there.
TRACK 06: definitely talking heads. i need to listen to more of these guys. another favorite from the mix and i don't remember hearing this song before.
TRACK 07: I really like this guy's voice and the background vocals together go nicely. second favorite song.
TRACK 08: Ah yes, Radiohead. This was nice because I had not heard it before and I was headed to a Radiohead concert in Dallas on my roadtrip when i was listening to this so it was a pleasant surprise.
TRACK 09: I'm not sure what to think of this song, but i feel like i should be singing along to it with friends. sad melody.
TRACK 10: this song wasn't too appealing to me, but it didn't disrupt the flow.
TRACK 11: Song starts off strangely, but when it picks up things get much better. the lyrics are pretty interesting.
TRACK 12: This song is probably the most relaxing of all the songs in this bunch. i guess i would like to be sitting under stars while listening.
TRACK 13: picks up the mood of the mix a bit especially with its playful piano.
TRACK 14: my favorite track on this mix with the exception of the bothersome way he says the word "stupid" ("stewpid".. though i tried singing it in a normal voice a few times and it didn't have the same effect that it did when it was said "stew" so maybe he had to go with it). i went on a road trip on my vacation and this song was played several times and became one of the "songs of the trip"
TRACK 15: this song sounds familiar or at least the vocalist. after multiple listens i ended up liking it quite a bit. fits the stripped down structure of many of these songs. probably my favorite of the slower songs.
TRACK 16: there are a couple female vocalists on this mix and give a nice contrast. im not crazy of this chorus but like the rest of the song a fair amount.
TRACK 17: wasn't crazy for this threadbare song, but i really like when people sing about "house of cards" so it earned a few points for that. there was just no connection with this one.
TRACK 18: the best part of the playlist for me (not so much the best song, but this was a nice surprise) because I am from oklahoma and Wayne and team are the best thing musically to come out of Oklahoma as far as im concerned. very entertaining song.
TRACK 19: ???
TRACK 20: Nice to end on such a short song. The end of this song has a finale feel to it so when it was playing (and i wasn't paying attention to how many songs were left) i figured this was the end.

Overall the majority of these songs aren't ones that I would normally listen to, which was fantastic to hear so many new ones. At first I wasn't crazy about the mix because it was difficult to get into the songs, but after 4 listens things really picked up and I enjoyed it quite a bit. For me it worked out best to skip three songs after I had listened to the whole thing many times because it made it a bit shorter and I liked every song. I'll definitely be keeping this mix around and throw it on once a month or so. It really reminds me of my three week trip now which is a great thing. I would give it a 7/10.

Thumbing back through the pages I realize that the person who sent this to me has already posted a tracklisting and an upload link, but i have not read any of the artists or track names so i am still going to post this. my apologies for the delay, but I was three weeks without a computer, 800 miles from home, so this was the only option for me.

01. The Black Keys - Your Touch
Quote:
TRACK 01: have not heard this before and it seemed like i wouldn't like it at first but after the song ended i just wanted to go back and listen to it again. very catchy guitar riff and an overall nice sound. one of my favorites from the mix.
That opening riff is awesome and I thought it would be a nice way to open the mix. They are very much worth looking into, I saw them live last month and this song was definitely one of the highlights.

02. Stevie Wonder - Superstition
Quote:
TRACK 02: i don't have this song on my computer but it's so popular that it gets by just fine without being on here, but im glad it now is. song speaks for itself without review, but i will say that i've been playing this around our apartment lately and is sneaking into our daily playlist.
This was the first Stevie Wonder song I ever heard and I did not see him listed on your last.fm so I thought what the hell.

03. Headlights - Cherry Tulips
Quote:
TRACK 03: i really like the chorus to this song, but i wasn't always in the mood for this one for some reason.
I got this song from one of the PASTE magazine CD samplers and while I was a bit disappointed with the album, I always liked it when this song came up on shuffle and since I had never heard of them I figured you might not have either.

04. Tom Waits - Old Shoes (and Picture Postcards)
Quote:
TRACK 04: the mix changed up a bit with this song, but this song is good. i don't know who it is and it was a pretty nice song to listen to while driving. in fact this playlist was suited for driving it seems.
Meet Tom Waits. This is from his first album and his voice has changed a lot since then. A LOT. The album this is from (Closing Time) is really, really good and has another one of the best really pretty / really sad songs ever on it (Martha).

05. Ben Folds - Bitches Ain't Shit
Quote:
TRACK 05: my least favorite song of this mix. the music fit the flow of the mix, but i was pretty soured by Ben after I left college.. I guess i left him there.
Ben Folds is somebody who could do really pretty much anything and I would probably listen to it and find something to love about it. He plays piano and loves Elton John; I am biased.

06. Talking Heads - The Book I Read
Quote:
TRACK 06: definitely talking heads. i need to listen to more of these guys. another favorite from the mix and i don't remember hearing this song before.
This song is from their first album (Talking Heads 77), one that sounds sort of sparse compared to their later albums. Not in a bad way though. This album and Stop Making Sense (their live album / film) are probably my two favorite releases of theirs, especially the latter.

07. The Avett Brothers - Die Die Die
Quote:
TRACK 07: I really like this guy's voice and the background vocals together go nicely. second favorite song.
I only have only ever heard their album Emotionalism (the album this song is from) but it's pretty solid.

08. Radiohead - Nobody Does It Better (live)
Quote:
TRACK 08: Ah yes, Radiohead. This was nice because I had not heard it before and I was headed to a Radiohead concert in Dallas on my roadtrip when i was listening to this so it was a pleasant surprise.
This is from a bootleg of theirs I got back in high school. It was one of the few bootlegs I ever purchased, and it was basically to hear this song.

09. Silver Jews - Honk If You're Lonely
Quote:
TRACK 09: I'm not sure what to think of this song, but i feel like i should be singing along to it with friends. sad melody.
I don't know that many people who know the Silver Jews so I figured I would put one of their catchier songs on here. Lyrically they are great but I had to get used to the vocals myself.

10. The Velvet Underground - Some Kinda Love
Quote:
TRACK 10: this song wasn't too appealing to me, but it didn't disrupt the flow.
Not my favorite VU song but I have always liked the line "Like a dirty French novel / Combines the absurd with the vulgar". I wanted to put a song of theirs on here but not one of their popular ones. Oh well.

11. Built to Spill - Car
Quote:
TRACK 11: Song starts off strangely, but when it picks up things get much better. the lyrics are pretty interesting.
I had this song stuck in my head while making this and really like so there you go.

12. Billy Bragg & Wilco - California Stars
Quote:
TRACK 12: This song is probably the most relaxing of all the songs in this bunch. i guess i would like to be sitting under stars while listening.
This is my favorite song of theirs from the two Mermaid Avenue albums they did with Billy Bragg. I have always loved Jeff Tweedy's voice. It sounds so weary but not in a depressing way. I don't know.

13. Van Morrison - When That Evening Sun Goes Down
Quote:
TRACK 13: picks up the mood of the mix a bit especially with its playful piano.
I can't speak for his more recent work, but he put out some great albums in the 1970s with Tupelo Honey (the album this song is from) being my favorite.

14. Jens Lekman - The Opposite of Hallelujah
Quote:
TRACK 14: my favorite track on this mix with the exception of the bothersome way he says the word "stupid" ("stewpid".. though i tried singing it in a normal voice a few times and it didn't have the same effect that it did when it was said "stew" so maybe he had to go with it). i went on a road trip on my vacation and this song was played several times and became one of the "songs of the trip"
He writes a lot of really pretty, catchy songs. It took me a while to get used to his vocals but after a few listens I was hooked.

15. Mason Jennings - Ballad For My One True Love
Quote:
TRACK 15: this song sounds familiar or at least the vocalist. after multiple listens i ended up liking it quite a bit. fits the stripped down structure of many of these songs. probably my favorite of the slower songs.
This is not the type of song I usually go for but it's sort of a "moment" song for me. I think it's just that is it not quite sappy enough for me to hate but the first time I heard it I just thought it captured how I felt at that moment perfectly.

16. Mark Ronson - Valerie (featuring Amy Winehouse)
Quote:
TRACK 16: there are a couple female vocalists on this mix and give a nice contrast. im not crazy of this chorus but like the rest of the song a fair amount.
I must have listened to this song about fifteen times in a row when I first heard it. I am a sucker for songs with hooks and with a horn section.

17. The White Stripes - Effect & Cause
Quote:
TRACK 17: wasn't crazy for this threadbare song, but i really like when people sing about "house of cards" so it earned a few points for that. there was just no connection with this one.
I didn't see The White Stripes in your last.fm but wasn't sure about putting them on your mix because most people I know either love them or hate them. This song is pretty simple so I thought it might at least not ruin in for you if you hated them.

18. The Flaming Lips - Thank You Jack White
Quote:
TRACK 18: the best part of the playlist for me (not so much the best song, but this was a nice surprise) because I am from oklahoma and Wayne and team are the best thing musically to come out of Oklahoma as far as im concerned. very entertaining song.
I pretty much bought the EP because of the song title. I'm not a huge fan of the Flaming Lips but this song is pretty great.

19. Gram Parsons - Cry One More Time
Quote:
TRACK 19: ???
Heh. To make a long story short, I have been on a Gram Parsons kick lately and thought this might be something different. He's one of the musicians I "pimp" to everybody I know. Even if they end up not liking Gram Parsons, then at least now they have at least heard of him.

20. Blind Melon - Life Ain't So Shitty
Quote:
TRACK 20: Nice to end on such a short song. The end of this song has a finale feel to it so when it was playing (and i wasn't paying attention to how many songs were left) i figured this was the end.
I was going to put some opus on the end but I thought better of it and put this on there. Nico as a whole is great, and I know most people just think of Blind Melon as singing "No Rain" but every time I hear this I wish Shannon Hoon had lived a bit longer because I think he had a lot of great music left to make.
