Default NEOREV - official thread for my production

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to share some of my work. I am an electronic music producer from New York. My first foray into music was the drums and played with various alternative rock bands throughout high school. But my real love was electronic music and started dabbling with production in 1999. It was until 2009 when I released my first full length album under the alias NEOREV. I have been steadily releasing music ever since. Below you will find some of my work, all available for free download in the format of your choice. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer and can connect with fellow producers on these boards. I'm always looking for folks to work and collaborate with and my music is always available remixing. I like to ******* other producers' re-imaginings of my tracks on my releases.

Attention electronic music lovers...

If you're into a mix of bass driven, dub, glitchy, electro, industrial music from an aspiring underground producer from New York, I have made all of my work available for your listening pleasure as free downloads. I'm a huge fan of The Prodigy and have been producing under the name Neorev since 2003. My track "Crank This Shit Up" was the opener for the first edition of Brainkiller Presents Music From The Jilted Generation, a compilation for The Prodigy fan site Brainkiller.it based in Italy. I self-released my first official album "Lines & Shapes" in 2009, which was a warehouse rave inspired, mix of four on the floor and breaks aimed at the dancefloors. At the end of 2011 I released its follow up "Children Of The Bomb," a darker, bassier, and more experimental album aimed at rumbling subwoofers and big dirty beats.

"This isn't your pop radio dubstep, this is the sound of empty city streets at night, where rats run rampant and the silhouettes in the shadows are either muggers out to get you or twisted figments of your imagination. These are the dirty, grimy, sleazy sounds of cyberpunk incarnate."

Longtime fans will revel in the electronic ecstasy of Matteo's futuristic songcraft, though, if you're new to the Neorev dimension, this is an excellent place to begin your journey. Respect the boom."

"It’s rare to find an artist that evolves so beautifully as Neorev has over the past few years. At this point, he should be producing top-ten hits for A-list pop-stars, but the music industry, as usual, is looking backward, not forward. Neorev is the future, and I like where it’s headed."

Electro indie punk rock kind of feel to it, with the great vocals by It Was July really giving the track a really nice character. I loved it since the very first second i pressed play and i have listened to it a few times since then so i had to post this one and hopefully you will all like it as much as i did."

"Long Island’s Neorev, aka Michael Matteo, embodies the epitome of what electronic dance music should be, i.e., music first and foremost, not just endless, insidious thumping. The fact is, the tracks on Lines & Shapes are actual songs with structure and changes, not just squibbles and squeaks over a 4/4 bass drum.

Lines & Shapes opens with “Oh No!”, an aggressive, almost industrial track recalling Lords of Acid or perhaps even My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult. Things change on “Force,” an Arabesque drum & bass trope. From here the tracks continue to demand attention while never stooping to the typical boring phrases and clichés expectant of electronic dance music. Several tracks, “The Stars Above Us,” “No Turning Back” and “Another Cloudy Day” even take on a particularly Krautrockian tone, eschewing the beat in favor of form and feeling, like Kluster or something.

In a style as bland as modern dance music, it’s quite refreshing to hear a collection of songs with some thought behind them. EDM doesn’t need to be boring, it just tends to be that way. We need more Neorevs to teach us otherwise."

"A&R" Produced By NEOREV
http://f1.bcbits.com/img/a1503206985_10.jpg

"A&R" is the second single from Brooklyn-based rapper/lyricist CENTRI to promote his upcoming full length album "HEADLESS NOBODY" due out on July 30th. Going by order of actual releases, this is our fifth collaboration... but technically this is actually our very first collaboration going back to over a year ago. On Centri's very first listen, he said "this song is going to be on the album." And since that first listen, we've been fine tuning the track and even getting the chance to test out our work with the occasional live performance. Then, back into the studio for editing, re-editing, mixing, remixing, so on and so forth until we had the final mix and master that you are hearing today.

You can stream "A&R" here...

The single is available for download here:

That or someone confused this for their very own MySpace page. All awaiting the offfical release and bio and dumped 5000 tracks to listen to and thanking us for some sort of support I wasn't aware was ever given to anyone promoting their band this way like its a fucking press release. Just missing animated gifts.

It's a thread in the Everything Except Pumpkins Music section with the title "official thread for my production" that contains links to exactly that... releases from over the years that feature fellow producers who i have met from various forums that I connected with. I don't see what the shock is. There's no surprise hidden, everything was specifically stated. No bot just a collection of releases and hoping that I can find new folks/producers to connect with. If you don't care to check out the music, then why take the time to come in a thread you have no interest in. i believe the thread is pretty simple and direct and intentions made clearly with the opening post. i even included the work from other folks from some of the performance groups and online blogs that i am a part of.

And I'm not some egotistical, thinking I'm all hot shit.. but to just write me off and call me mediocre to just be a dick. if that's your thing. i'm doing quite well in the Electronica charts for Reverbnation and have a decent following. Broke the top 500 in the world for electronica artists, almost broke top 100 for the States, and I am currently at 6th in the local New York electronic charts, I'm pretty proud of that. I've been producing for well over a decade and perform out and around the tri-state area. I've put together events and try to help other electronic music artists get gigs and have their music heard. I think you would find that I'm a pretty down to earth guy who is open to all styles of music just trying to find and meet like-minded individuals. All of those remixers featured on my releases are folks that I have met over the years, people who became good friends, and people whose music that I am a huge supporter of. There's a lot of artists/other music here than just little old me if you care to take a listen. Didn't mean to offend anyone with just sharing a list of releases.

and yeah it's pretty spammy, you could just post in the thread dedicated to "your music" and provide links. that would get more clicks, if any, but if you notice people are not posting about EDM here

very nice to have an official thread instead of all the unofficial ones netphoria forum users made before.

Reverbnation syncs all of your main internet pages together from Soundcloud to FB to Twitter to even the outdated Myspace.

If you're getting plays, people are discussing you and sharing your music, followers/fans/etc. Make sure fans are playing your music all the way through and there's actually buzz about you. I don't use any of those cheating "get plays/get fans" bullcrap, I do everything myself. I get a lot f activity through my Bandcamp and Soundcloud and some through Facebook. Have a decent amount of downloads on my Bandcamp, Soundcloud I have over 800 followers that I made that I earned, and Facebook I'm approaching 500 likes.

I also had my music featured in some indie b-horror movies and online compilations/blogs. My track "So Twisted" got some love on the official Ableton blogs, which is pretty cool for me since Ableton is my DAW of choice/what I use to produce.

I opened for Marty Party in NYC, he's a signed/world traveling artist... got me some exposure. One of my tracks got selected for this Dodge commercial contest, but I didn't win.

All this crap adds up, Reverbnation collects that data and organizes the lists.

maybe i'm confused, but i thought that's what i did. i made a thread for my music, it's not like i just posted my music in someone else's thread.

would be cool to create a hub, if there are other producers on here.
i think my music goes a bit further than your usual EDM stuff and quite different from what plays in raves.

That is fine dude, you don't have to... no one is forcing you.
Sorry if I don't care that you don't wanna listen to my music. I'm glad you went out of the way to join the discussion in my music thread.
And yes,YOU came into my thread, so besides purposely wasting your own time coming into a thread you have no interest in to tell me that you don't want to listen to my music kinda comes off as you just wanted to be a dick simply to just be a dick and a tad sad. No offense, don't really understand what you wanted to accomplish here.

And honestly, I've been a long time lurker of this site when it comes to Smashing Pumpkins. I've only been an "official" member for about a week, but damn there are some miserable bastards on here. Just set out to create more misery. I don't see the point in being intentionally rude to a complete strange. I've had discussions with folks and would like to think that I don't come off as being malicious or a know it all and someone who wants genuine discussions. But man, can people tone down be an ass up front.

I don't think your attempt to advertize will be very successful with this kind of mindset.

Seriously?
To go out of your way to go into someone's thread you have no interest in at all in the first placed just so you say "Sorry that I don't want to listen to your music" just to be a dick for no reason... no one was forcing him to. Really? I'm in the wrong here?

I had another thread in the Pumpkins section where you can request music you're looking for get derailed by a guy because I did exactly that. I asked nicely from some obscure songs from some old soundtrack to have the first person come and start shit with me for no reason.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but this has been my experience so far.
Then I have some other dude come at me and close my thread down saying that I "kept begging for music" and "don't provide anything back for anyone else" when I literally just helped a dude in obtaining a few tracks he didn't have and was involved in creating some interesting discussions in regards to sound quality of some Pumpkins releases and their current drummer predicament. and i have this dude that has no clue about me just going by the original guy who started shit with me just come in and close my thread.

i'm sorry, but in the last week this is what i had to deal with here. it hasn't been a positive experience. i'm not trying to be a dick, but this is what's going on here.

i made a friend with one of the guys watch my thread get derailed by people purposely starting crap for no reason and was saying this is the type of favoritism to expect. people get one set of rules while while another set of people get different rules specially made for them.

it's a tad frustrating

My apologies, I honestly didn't know that there was a forum on these boards like that. Maybe making that thread a sticky so that it won't get lost amongst the other threads and stay toward top.

As for the EDM thing, I notice that my style of electronica actually does better with the rock crowds than with the rave crowds strangely enough. I got a pretty nice response on the official NIN forums as well as one of the fan forums. When I perform, I don't play the usual DJ events but more live events since I do all original live electronica and not just DJing other folks music. Don't get me wrong I like to have fun and throw together a mix here and there for shits and giggles, but I stick with original music when performing.

Like you would hear these tracks like at rave/DJ event since they're more industrial rock than dance. Been working with vocalists/rappers and live musicians trying to create a supergroup... a kinda alt electronic rock band to take live.

here we go smashingjj

this is the guy Rider who came into other thread to start with me because of this...

"Would someone be able to share these songs in FLAC if possible? If not, 320CBR MP3 if available?

Your help would be greatly appreciated and many thanks in advance to helping a fellow SP fan out in obtaining these.

I honestly never knew until today that these were actually included on the film's soundtrack."

that's my exact post above asking for a few songs from an old movie soundtrack in the section where you request Pumpkins material.

I posted it in this section of the forums...
Smashing Pumpkins and Music Trading Post
Trade, sell, buy or request any Pumpkins and other bands stuff.

And for someone reason Rider lost his shit over that.
And here he is once again following me into another thread because he has nothing better to do.

hey Rider, let me Gooch comes in here as well since he was a witness to his shenanigans and verify. Gooch and I are actually friends now after that incident earlier and message me about some of goings on around these boards.

you guys can witness that load of crap here: http://forums.netphoria.org/showthread.php?t=181215
