Ah wow this is great and this band hasn't sounded great since 2001 - And even then Know Your Enemy needed to be about 9 tracks along. Up to 'Bleach' so far and really impressed. I realise i'm talking this bullshit to myself but bring on the Roundhouse show. Can't wait.

Fuck me! 'Facing Page' - They weren't lying about quiet songs like 'Small Black Flowers' Beautiful, wow. I think I gave the last album one listen - if that. This is brilliant.

'Marlon J.D.' Wow. P.I.L. Fuck Yeah! Firing on all cylinders doesn't cover it. Cider's good but I wish I had a spliff.

The piano on 'Virginia State' is great. It's not like 'Everything Must Go' but probably the closest album in it's passion. Reached the end, 'Bag Lady' is great. 'William's Last Words' doesn't really do the album justice as a closer but it's a great album. Thanks again, i'll stop all this now.

that was good, there are some tracks i really enjoyed... overall i don't know if it's as strong as lots of people seem to be making out, but it definitely deserves some repeat listens before i make up my mind.

Now i'm sober (and a couple of listens later) I'd agree with that. The tracks I mentioned above are great, standout for me is Marlon J.D. there does seem to be some growers on there which is the major difference from the last couple of records. I think it depends how much you can get into songs from titles/lyrics because the music isn't that difference from EMG - In my case being interested in the words can make or break what I think of a band.

Along with Swoon this is the best record I've heard this year. Pretension/Repulsion and Me and Stephen Hawking are the standout tracks for me right now, but I genuinely enjoy each song.

I love the Manics. This is a really good album btw. Some of the songs, especially Bag Lady, sound like out takes from The Holy Bible.

I still think my favorite album of theirs would have to be This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours.

But yeah I really love this band and pretty much everything they have done.
