That's good, though. I feel like my level of satisfaction with life increased when I stopped giving as much of a shit about the quality of the coffee I drink.
Also when I figured that I couldn't justify paying a ton of money for something I'll drink while half-asleep anyway. |

coffee isn't lame, but coffee culture and just talking about it sure is.

But you know, I still make mine with a plunger. And these beans aren’t that precious. I think it’s more like you easily procured some imitation, similar worms from Indonesia, and now they produce a fabric that shows zero characteristics of silk except that it was made by killing worms |

Also sounds delicious. I'm actually currently drinking my Tesco French Blend made in a French Press, mixed with Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk. It's a guilty and embarrassing pleasure

They're great if you like your mediocre drinking experiences finished off with a mouthful of silt.

There's something very nineties about silkworms, to me.
Silkworms, mulberries and white dog shit. |

I make coffee at home mostly with a cappuccino/espresso maker, though I usually just make black coffee americano style. Sometimes I like a little cream. I'm slightly a coffee snob. Dunkin Donuts is the only chain coffee that is really acceptable by itself. Starbucks makes some ok drinks, but if you order a black coffee it's not great. mcdonalds coffee is like drinking diarrhea engine oil
oh also cold brew haters wtf, cold brew is delicious. I'm sure you can still order a regular cold or iced coffee or whatever it is you want |

There's this coffee chain here in the Northwest called Dutch Bros and people fucking LOVE it and it's actually terrible. Surprise, surprise!

I dunno, it still tastes good to me. You have to get the right amount, and put a little cold water in the bottom to wet the grounds, before you put in the hot water, stir, and then put the lid on and wrap it in a tea towel or something, to keep a bit of the heat in. I like it. I mean, I liked making espressos at home, too...but the amount of things I had to repeat, to get a result that was very inconsistent, just wore me down, over the years. I bought my Vibiemme and mazzer mini in 2010...and sold them in 2017 when we moved here. But for me the drop between fresh roasted, fresh ground Ethiopian yirgacheffe, when the grind is right and the extraction is good and everything just works the way you dreamed it would.... And literally everything else, is so large that I don’t give a shit. Can I drink it? Is it hot? Give it to me. |

My problem with making coffee is that I don't measure anything. Some mornings I make a cup of mud, but others it is liquid perfection. Today was a success!

I think it's a mistake to compare espresso with French press coffee. It's like two different drinks made with the same ingredient, rather than two methods of making the same drink. Thanks. |

- Dunkin Donuts Original Blend (ground or beans, depending on what mood I'm in)
- two overflowing scoops - 4 cups of water - brew it |

The correct way to make any and all coffee is with hot water. I'm ready to fight about it

This is wrong. I'm sincerely sorry. Espresso and brewed coffee are very different. I mean obviously it's still coffee but come on with this have you had espresso? Maybe I'm reaching here but it's like would you call fruit puree and fruit juice the same thing? I think not. Or maybe you would. Maybe that's how you get your kicks

It's hard for me to understand the vitriol towards cold brew, but I accept your position as valid.
