So far I'm not digging this as much as the previous album. White Shows is quite beautiful though. Conor tends to be at his best doing the quiet songs.

The album is somewhat disappointing. I've been a big Conor / Bright Eyes fan for a long time, but this album just lacks. It's classic country twang blues rock that we heard on the first album, but just more of it, and less personal adaptation of the style. I can tell Conor has a great deal of passion for this kind of music, which is great, but I've always appreciated him as an innovator... I hope he finds his way back soon.

I've never been able to get into Conor Oberst in any shape or form. Maybe I should try harder.

Start with Wide Awake, then move on to Lifted and Digital Ash (more electronic feel). If you don't get what the fuzz is about after those, chances are you never will.
