discuss your FAVORITE album of 2002.

boom bip and doseone - circle i wasn't so sure that this was even my favorite, as there were a whole boatload of great releases this year. it's been difficult for me to evaluate this album, as it's pretty much an all-or-nothing deal; a single song is useless, while the collective whole is brilliant. it's a time commitment to listen to all twenty nine tracks. every time i finish listening to it, i'm not quite sure that i've in fact been listening to anything. it's not that the experience was dull, but it was so simultaneously scattershot and familiar that it could've passed for some spring cleaning inside my mind. the music is nothing short of incredible. while i'm notorious for not paying attention to words that inhabit songs, i'm really drawn to the lyrics. i don't think i've ever been so fascinated with words coupled with music. trying to come up with any sort of qualitative terms to describe circle is a baffling affair. these two have managed to call attention to human thought so inherent that it's taken for granted. how doseone could have ever tapped into this material is beyond me. as for myself, i'm going to keep recalling - i mean, listening. |

Although I will probably get Negative, lame and Ignorant one-off replies, i will probably post my favorite once i can decide on which one and why.
