It was like a bread pudding kind of thing. French toast and pudding hybrid but with hot dog buns.

the passion for cooking and experimenting and executing recipes is one of the things i'd lost when my ex and i broke up.
i used to make all sorts of stuff and really enjoy doing it. but it just died as soon as we broke up. now i basically cook flavorless food to serve the purpose of providing my body with necessary fuel. |

i haven't cooked anything recently. i did lose 15 lbs by eating better and keeping track but i can't seem to get past that. i have been eating a lot better still though, lots more vegetables. but i have no energy/motivation to cook.

baking some pork tenderloin and made a salad with spinach, mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, cucumbers and pomegranate vinaigrette dressing. and then i have a nice peach for dessert. working at 6am again tomorrow so i'm trying to wind down here... i made a big mix of the salad (- the dressing) so i should have 2-3 more salads for the next few days yay |

I don't know how you plp can eat all that flesh. Christ on a cross, I don't even know what a tenderloin is. Is it like a steak?
My housemates had pork chops a few days ago and invited me to try some. Yeesh! |

it's very lean - but still tender - meat. beef tenderloin is ridiculously expensive but pork is not. it's very good and flavorful to me, but i think most people prefer chops

i'm with you - pork tenderloin is the jam.
i like to slice it thin and eat it with either spicy mustard or horseradish. even when i put it in the fridge i know i'll be back for more. its even great cold. |

i made a bad bad (good) meal the other day with turnips, chicken, red peppers, lemon juice, garlic, and dry white cooking wine. i made some rice on the side and served the poultry and turnips on top of some in bowl.
i freaked myself out with how much i liked it. i got up in the middle of the night to nibble on more until i had to stop myself to leave enough for tim. oh, it's the meal pictured above. |

thems are turnips right there. i was tearing out by hand any thick bit of bitter stalk in the leaves. took me a hot minute but i liked the pile it made.
i'm like a tornado in the kitchen, though. woo doggy. |

what kinda foods does everyone take to work or school? i like to eat/make dips or spreads for sandwiches or crackers. last semester i took green olives, slices of salami, crackers, and goat cheese all the time.
my only personal rule is that i take something that doesn't require a microwave because there isn't always one available. cold pasta like sesame noodles make good leftovers. i bought the stuff to make white bean dip and olive tapenade this weekend. i'm looking for ideas here. i want to broaden what i eat, but i really only like cooking with inexpensive ingredients and turning them into something fancier. |

no matter how fancy i try to make them, i always get sick of sandwiches very fast and can't even tolerate the thought of eating the same thing over and over again. and i don't know about you guys but i can't really be fucked to get super creative about my sandwiches in the daily grind of routine.
besides i pretty much became a vegetarian and i almost don't eat dairy at all, so that narrows down the options even further. |
