I'm really suprised so many people have given up on the Smashing Pumpkins so quickly
I mean, I am a person that believes that one day, they WILL be back together, maybe when they're all 50 years old or something, and maybe just for a small reuninion tour. think of how many bands have gotten back together. billy and jimmy are already playing together. and melissa and james have their little thing going. who's to say that they won't get back together?
------------------ KRAMER: I think it's over. We had a big fight, she threw me out, I started walkin', and now I'm lost downtown! I don't have any money. I don't recognize anybody. I miss home, and I don't even know how to get there. JERRY: What's around you? KRAMER: I'm lookin' at Ray's Pizza. You know where that is? JERRY: Is it Famous Ray's? KRAMER: No. It's Original Ray's. JERRY: Famous Original Ray's? KRAMER: It's just Original, Jerry! JERRY: Well, what street are you on? KRAMER: Hey, I'm on first and first. How can the same street intersect with itself? I must be at the nexus of the universe. JERRY: Just wait there. I'll pick you up, and, Kramer, stay alive! No matter what occurs, I will find you! KRAMER: Aah! Seinboys! |

I don't even need them to have a reunion as such. I'll shell out money just to hear them come back together as a Rush cover band.

If they ever do a reunion, Melissa won't be part of it anyway...

i think your hanging on straws and wishing because you miss them sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. give the people a chance to do something different. 12 years at the same thing must get old.

I'll refer to the interview on Sound Opinions which took place on Nov. 28, 2000 with Billy and Jimmy.......
(paraphrasing of course) "We have discussed this. This is probably the last time we'll ever play live, but there is a possibility where we would make another album together. Possibly under a different name. But there is a 99.9% chance that this is the last time you will see us live." So it really depends if they want to make music together again. Take the quote as you want it. Remember, Billy did say once that it was doubtful that Jimmy would ever rejoin the band......anything is possible I guess. |

i bet there's a lot of people here that wish they could be back together, but i just don't think they will.. i know about people that never have the opportunity to see them live and would kill to go to a SP concert, and it's bacause of them i hope they will play another time all together..
but if billy and the others decided to disband, it just means that it's right this way.. accept that =) ------------------ ** I Don't need no Heaven or Hell but it's alright as long as you're in my Heart ** |

Yeah, and Michael Jordan said that there was a 99.9% chance that he would not come back a 3rd time. And Billy has more in common with Jordan than anyone in this country. They're both 90's Chicago heroes, they're both tall and bald, they both claimed that they would leave Chicago once they "ended" their careers then ended up staying there, they're both making comebacks soley because they're old and bored, and so far, they're both sucking in their comebacks. So if you use the old a = b = c formula, I think you can easily figure out whether the Pumpkins will get back together again or not. |

i was looking through who would be playing in my area at pollstar a couple months ago and i saw that Eric Burdon and the New Animals would be playing near by. i thought at first that this might be worth seeing then thought that it would probably just be really sad.

Who the fuck would wanna see the Pumpkins when they're 50? If you're 25 now, you'll be 45 then. If you don't have more important things to be involved with by then, then I feel sorry for your lonely ass.

If Billy isn't killed within the next three or so years, everyting is going to be perceived as a joke. It's more than apparent that he is past his prime, and he's just tapped out. EVERY Zwan song is cliche. There is seriously no way around it. The Pumpkins are done, and so is Mr. Corgan.
I'm down for wishful thinking, but seriously, try to be logical here. |
