Mostly because I'm going down with the ship. Posted regularly from 2000-2016 or so. That's a huge chunk of my life. I am not really clued in with all the comings and goings anymore but when this place is/was fun, it is/was fun.

I think if you're going that broad you might as well throw in REM and the Police

they are similar in a broad sense, have some common influences, and they all share a lot of musical sensibilities in terms of what was hip in that time period

I don't know that it matters as frankly I think both those bands are dogshit
